I was told my costs would be £20.00 per month, but after I got fed up with waiting for connection I cancelled my order ,before I had received anything , I have since found they debited my bank account by thirty pounds which now they say they will refund by cheque in fourteen days, how can they get away with that most reputable companies refund straight back into the account the money was taken from0

I also found it very difficult to quantify poptelecom call charges. They don't seem to publish them and the link they provide leads to a 404 page. However as I was only looking for a cheap unlimited broadband provider with lowest line rental this wasn't a problem (I have enough call time on my mobile contract to mean I don't need to use any on my landline).
I signed up for their Unlimited £2.50/month (£30/year in advance) broadband and their line rental at £132 for 12 months in advance. So my total annual bill paid on completion of the order was £162 which seemed very good. However that's when the real problems started.
Poptelecom confirmed my order exactly as I'd placed it on their order page which included a free wifi router. When I received their welcome pack they had apparently enrolled me in a completely different plan which ignored my advanced payments and was going to bill me about £100 more for the service over 12 months. I complained and received no response. I complained again and was ignored. Eventually I was acknowledged and the plan was amended but they still wouldn't include my advanced payment for the broadband. At the same time they refused to comment on the free wifi router and if it was going to be supplied. I was given a <My Account> UserName and Password but neither worked and despite repeated attempts I failed to get any comments on this status.
My activation date is fast approaching and I still don't know where I stand on so much of the new service I've contracted for.
So can I recommend poptelecom? No, never, never. Go elsewhere and don't be fooled by the strap line of UK based Customer Service.
I joined pop telecom last October cant wait for my year to be up what i thought would be £28 per month averages £40-£45 a month never get bill on time was charged for 0845 and 0870 numbers eventually got a refund still being charge for 03 numbers which OFCOM say should be treated same as 01 and 02 in inclusive packages and they say calls to customer services free but get charged for them also .added to this while printing my message yet again my internet cut of as happens frequently.0 -
Maybe you should read the MSE page on broadband. They are in number 2 position on their best deals:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband
It is hard to see in what way dms05 is to blame for POPs poor service.
I thought it was a good deal Reaper and sounded great hence now dreading my bill each month average between £40-£45 instead of the £28 i thought and being charged for 0845 and 0870 numbers as well when contracts states these are free and i am not only one they have done this to if you read the messages i wonder how many are being charged without noticing it,maybe quoted second best deal but anyone can put figures as i,ve learnt to my cost.:money:0 -
Just a quick note to say thanks to all on here for their reviews: I'm comparing broadband providers as I'm about to move into my newly purchased flat(!) and was looking at MoneySuperMarket's deal with them with a view to signing up. However all the frank reviews on here have convinced me I'd save myself a lot of hassle if I looked elsewhere. Thanks, MSE-ers!0

My mum got scammed and bullied into buying a mobile (she can't use them) and this action renewed her contract for another 18 mths .Sent her a confirmation letter 2weeks after the cooling off period and they have refuse to answer 12 emails from me and they fob my mum off with pathetic excuses and don't ring back.
BUT were right on time to change her direct debt to pay for her FREE phone.
chrispook I agree 100% with your last line
If you want a good laugh read their code of practice0 -
Stay away from them. For a phone company they really don't know how to return calls and they are reknown for adding extras and charges to your inclusive bills0

I was with Pop Telicom not one of my better exsperiences joine 2014 package deal mobiles, anytime calls internet for 12 months.
December noticed charching for 0845 numbers queried this as was in my package got the money refunded,Feb noticed charging 03 numbers which includes there customer services ,so checked with OFFCOM WHO SAY IF YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES 01 and 02 numbers 03 should be treated the same so pointed this out to them and eventually got a refund of these and 03 included in my package, said i would get a bill by 16th each month ,not so nearly every month ringing to find what my bill was before it come out on 1st, then i joined as seemed a good deal my feb bill for internet and phone was £49,90 this was not due to extensive use, queried it but still none the wiser so changed provider, received phone call saying hear you are leaving us,i said yes, they said your still in contract it was 24 months,i said no it was for 12 months ended last Oct 2015,to which the reply was hang on then ,no it was 18 months i said no 12 months i have the contract, they said if you want to leave now pay us £50 now,i said no and hung up then after e mails to and frowing got one saying it appears you may be out of contract so your package is £18 per month ( this is only part other charges on top ) then i received a letter asking for £785.30 for the rest of my contract, then after this got a bill for £54 also £4 for over limits but no exsplanation for £50 ,
My contract which i have was for 12 months from Oct 2014 ,i am so glad i keep all my paperwork was also told in my e mail it was up to me to check online if there are any charge increases but their contract says if their is a change in terms that is to your detriment they should notify you 30 days in advance . Wish i had never heard of them .0 -
I would say to all those on here lodge your complaints with OFFCOM and if 100% sure not giving you whats in your package, write a complaint to them telling them to give a reply within 8 weeks if not in your favour will be treated as a deadlock letter or if no reply after 8 weeks take to CISAS i was originaly told mine also would be £28 a month last month as i said £49.90
Also read the back page about if they change your contract, OFFCOM and CISAS are there to protect us .0 -
Ofcom rules say you can leave mobile, broadband and landline contracts penalty-free if the monthly price rises beyond what you agreed when signing up.0
