Is it likely the price was wrong -or not?

I work at Asda and change prices on a daily basis as directed by head office. It has been known for prices to be reduced one day then increased the next or vice versa.
Okay, That might be the answer - or not.
If prices can change like that, then it's near on impossible to detect any price errors. Only through careful scrutiny, not something the customer service desk can handle it seems. Not something the help desk should be expected to handle - perhaps?0 -

That was the price Asda was advertising said snack at and that's what the OP agreed to pay!
If Asda then wants to increase/decrease the price then that's their right, as is the OP's right to buy or not buy.
As for different prices in different stores then that's long been the case, especially in supermarkets!
You are missing the point. Issue is error.0 -

The op thinks that at the time they bought the item it was only 85p in other asda stores, therefore he/she has been over charged by 15p.0 -

ASDA gave me a £2 voucher because of the error they had made. Of course, the error was undoubted, it was easily evident.
The potential error that we are talking about is different. And I'm finding out, I think, the limits of customer service to deal with suspected errors of the type in my case.
Yes, that's the problem. The customer service people can only spot obvious mistakes. But if the label says a price and the till says the same price, and the price is about right then they can't say one way or another if the price is a mistake.
Also, don't forget that asda and other supermarkets have been making a big thing about all the items they sell for just £1. Obviously some things came down to £1, but they also put some things up to £1.
Then Iceland reduced a lot of it's £1 lines to 85p and I guess other supermarkets tried to match it.
So it's no surprise that items costing 85p went up to £1 and then came back down again to match other supermarkets.
Here's a thought, what would you have done if you had bought the item at 85p one day and noticed it was £1 the next day? Would you be insisting asda investigate it as a potential error?0 -
I've lived 57 years and not once in all those years, when a price has gone down have I gone and queried if the higher price was an error.
What set this off was a series of circumstances.0 -

But if the till said £1 and the SEL said £1 where's the errorgeordie_joe wrote: »The op thinks that at the time they bought the item it was only 85p in other asda stores, therefore he/she has been over charged by 15p.
No he hasn't. He went into a store where the price of an item was £1. Now it doesn't matter if the chain had a store next to the one he went in and in that 2nd store it was 85p. In the store that the OP went in it was £1.
As I previously said supermarkets are well known for charging different prices in different stores for the same item2014 Target;

Maybe your Asda store didn't put the price down on the day you shopped because the demand was there.
Then the next tie you visited, they had put the price down.
I think you are over-thinking this as the shop has already told you there are different prices at different stores around the country.
Why don't you ask the same about airline flights... one day they can cost £100 more than they were even just a few hours ago!
Amazon has the same. If they get a lot of clicks on one item, the price goes up.0 -
You should put the effort that went into all this chasing around and posting on forums into choosing healthier foods!0
