Is it likely the price was wrong -or not?

That happens with every price change, one day they are one price and the next day they are another price. Maybe it's just that this time you bought a product on the day before it changed.
You still haven't said why you thought you were being over charged in the first place?0 -
I probably queried the price Friday because they had been £0.85. I have two oldish receipts dated 18.07 & 30.07 and cheesy balls are £0.85. There is a difference to one's thinking betweeen price changing one day, because you don't think much of that, to the price going down the day after you bring the price to the notice of the store. When the price then aligns with the price in other stores. It just looks like there was a price error on Friday. But, it could have been put up to £1 that week by head office, sales bad, so it went back to £0.85. But, I want to know for sure. Perhaps store-wide the price was £1.00 for a week, I just don't know. But, I doubt it. I've contacted ASDA and I'll see what they say about price movements of cheesy balls.0

But you don't know what the price was in other stores, you said in your first post
"P.S, I wish I knew what the price of cheesy balls were at Batley, on Friday. And if there is a set day for price changes. I'd bet they were £0.85 at Batley on Friday. "0 -
On Saturday the price was the same with the Batley store price. Either the price came down Saturday to match Batley's in a sort of an alignment, or price went down on Saturday at Wakefield and Batley, because store price was also £1.00 at Batley on Friday. In theory possible. I doubt it though. Price at Batley Friday I bet was £0.85. Just don't know for sure.0

But exactly what 'result' are you trying to achieve? I don't actually see any useful outcome to pursuing this. Noone seems to be denying that prices can be slow to change - it's not actually possible to do it instantaneously. And there's no such thing as a 'right' price - other than it being consistent at any one moment in time.
And I wouldn't expect store staff to have a deep understanding of the inner workings of the store's computer0 -

It seems your whole concern seems to be based on you "betting" that the price you paid in store was different to other stores, but you don't know that for a fact.
The prices are controlled by head office not the store. They set the prices and the sel labels are printed out in each store. So if the sel had been wrong in one store it would have been wrong in them all.
So whether you paid the correct price or not, the prices would have been the same in all stores on the same day.0 -
On the basis that your principle is worth more to you than 15p, if when you were originally charged £1 and felt that you were overcharged why you didn't go and recheck the shelf label there and then.
To spend all this time and effort now seems a little moot2014 Target;

A matter of great social and political import, indeed.
Google is not your friend for investigating further the intrigue of 'cheesy balls'. Not if you don't have safe search turned on.0 -

The op did check the sel, they said that in the first paragraphHi. This is a cheesy story. Yesterday, Friday, at ADSA Wakefield I bought cheesy balls. They came up at £1.00 at the self-service till. I thought the price I was being charged was wrong. I went to customer service and I went with the assistant to see what the price was on the shelf. Sure enough it was £1.00. So, I just accepted that.mountainofdebt wrote: »To spend all this time and effort now seems a little moot
I agree, especially since there is no basis for it other than the op "betting" the price was different in other stores.0 -
I work at Asda and change prices on a daily basis as directed by head office. It has been known for prices to be reduced one day then increased the next or vice versa.0
