No, what they are due is a fair and proper investigation by the police.
And what will that investigation _do_? It'll - at best, for the OP - decide that the bus driver is to blame for the collision, right?
In addition to being held culpable - so the OP gets full payout from the bus company's insurance - he's been found guilty of careless driving. But, as far as the OP is directly concerned, that's beside the point. As is the outcome of that charge. That is SOLELY between the driver and his employer. Nobody else is affected by it.0 -
Compo is based on the level of injury etc and beyond establishing liability the level of fault has no bearing. The police have no part in directing compensation levels. You're right, you can't, because you don't have enough information to know anything. Which is what I've been saying all along.0 -
Any compensation is SOLELY based on the damage to the car and the injuries suffered. There is no more due. There can be no more due. No mental anguish, no PTSD, no fluffy-bunny-hug.You're right, you can't, because you don't have enough information to know anything. Which is what I've been saying all along.0 -
Never mind the OP, does Mattye?0

No, we already know the bus driver is to blame. It can help determine the level of blame though.
E.g. one of the factors indicating higher culpability in careless driving is if you are carrying passengers or a heavy load. If the police report says that the bus had no passengers on it then one of the factors indicating higher culpability has not been met.

As I said before, there are public interest considerations as well. Investigations need to be done properly so that the right outcome can be reached as much as possible. What if one of the witnesses said they saw the bus driver on a mobile phone, but that was disregarded by the police because they thought the witness was a passenger in the OP's car and therefore not independent? Do you not think a harsher sentence should be handed out in such circumstances?
I also think it's quite important to the victim for the right sentence to be handed out.
Again, I'm not saying that taking into account all of the circumstances, the right outcome wasn't what actually happened, but simply that if there were glaring errors in the evidence then any such decision should be re-considered.What will your verse be?

How much more than 100% blame should the bus driver have, then?Do you not think a harsher sentence should be handed out in such circumstances?
Once again, the punishment is NOT the OP's business. You or I have as much stake in the punishment as the OP does.0 -
Possibly OP is on some sort of crusade to get careless bus drivers sacked and imprisoned. Cannot see any other reason for wanting the report.0
