Sorry, yes - I wasn't suggesting it was a closed case in terms of payment of compensation, just that it was all agreed-in-principle and all under way.

I doubt it's even agreed in principle as a few heads of claims to look at and the injuries may still be on going.

The bus company may already have accepted liability though.

So it would be reasonable to assume the OP has not received their loss of earnings and injury pay outs yet. Which opens the debate up some what

I'm sort of with the OP here. An official document contains factual errors and this error has the potential to impact on the OP for another 6 years. Two extra people (though uninjured) are erroneously listed as being passengers in her vehicle (impact injuries don't always appear at the time of the incident). This needs to be corrected if at all possible. The punishment meeted out to the bus driver is not relevant.

The error is explained in post #1.

It needs to be corrected in order that the error has no adverse impact on the outcome of any claim.

    How would it do so?

It doesn't affect the liability for the collision, and thereby whose hand is in whose pocket.
It doesn't affect the damage to the car, and thereby the payout for that.
It doesn't affect the injuries to the OP and their passenger, and thereby the payout for those.

So how and what might it affect?

ALL errors should be corrected. It's not for us to guess how any error might potentially affect a claim.

You don't have all of the information.

It makes no difference to the claim, the bus went into the back of the car and is almost certainly liable for the claim. Even so the driver has in effect admitted he was driving without due care and attention by accepting the driving course which you have to admit your guilt to be given the option of this.

The claim isn't affected in any way by the police report.

The police don't get involved with civil matters.

Fine, but it should still be corrected and reviewed for the purposes of the criminal side.
