Problems with people who do not live in block of flats using communal areas

In answer to your questionwould it be bad for me to say that all the foreign people I hvae worked with have been better workers than people from the UK?
It's still stereotyping, and therefore not OK! Even though it may be true, it potentially could upset people like me who are hard-working, British born-and-bred, and white.
It's a bit like saying "women are terrible drivers". It may very well be that all the women in your family and friends are terrible drivers, and so you may think that ALL women are therefore terrible drivers. However by making that assumption from a very small sample size, you're potentially upsetting at least 50% of the population. Thankfully insurance companies use much larger sample sizes and know that women are no more likely than men to have accidents.0 -
We used to live near a block of flats that I walked past every weekday. A new family had moved in and decided to plonk a sofa in the front communal area and sit there drinking and smoking, being loud and intimidating. A few people complained, the sofa was collected, I assume by the council fly tipping squad and everything went quiet.
Can you speak to your other neighbours and see if it's affecting them too? Maybe if a group of you jointly complained it might get sorted out.
Good luck.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0 -
The OP has already said that the last thread was closed because people assumed she was complaining about their nationality, why is this one heading in the same direction? The issue here has nothing to do with where they are from. I don't think the OP is intending to judge anyone.
I don't think there's much that can be done about it unfortunately, so I don't really have any advice. I don't think it's possible for anyone to stop it happening, so the only thing you can do is try to speak to the residents living there. If they're claiming that they don't speak English the only other alternative is to get a note translated and put it through their door!
If it were me though, I think I'd either learn to live with it or start looking for somewhere else to live. I don't think I'd want to end up falling out with the neighbours because it could just end up causing more problems.0 -
The problem here is the actions of the people who are congregating at all hours, bringing their dogs in, riding round on motorbikes, taking up parking spaces, etc.
All the people criticising the OP for "bringing race into it" have obviously never had to deal with these types of problem.0 -
People are people regardless of where they come from and if they annoy you you have a right to complain. Who cares if the OP mentions these people are foreign they need to learn respect for the community they live in and the people in it.If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here0

The problem is the liberal brigade seize any chance to shout about people being racist instead of condemning the idiots who are causing the trouble. Tbh I see this type of behaviour all the time by our friends from Eastern Europe and if anyone ever visited those countries they would see that standard behaviour to them is different to what we would accept.
Of course while we allow more to enter the country, stretch the nhs, schools and benefits system to the limit, let's keep making excuses for them.
Unfortunately the floodgates cannot be closed now even if we want to as the majority are already here.0 -
Maybe this us being done to get you to move? Maybe they want the whole block to themselves?
Thank god you don't own it. A definite plus for renting!0 -

I personally find it frustrating that any discussion which discusses the impact of immigrant communities on the indigenous communities is automatically branded racist by the PC brigade.
Simple fact is if, you increase the population in an area and don't increase the supply of housing and services, such as doctors and schools, local people will be affected.
It's not racist to state the obvious.
But the more we sidestep the issues, in our never ending quest to prove each other how liberal and diverse we are. The more we push people who being affected on day to day basis to the likes of BNP.
Most of these people are not racist, although it easy to brand people who vote these kind of parties.
But when no-one is listening, except them, then there is not really much choice of who to cast your ballot for.0 -

Umm, no.
If the fact they're "foreign" and "all from the same country" is irrelevant, why mention it? Would the OP have mentioned if they all worked in the same supermarket? Of course not. It'd be irrelevant.
The fact that the OP _did_ mention it shows that it is relevant to the OP. That they are reacting differently because of the national origins of the people in question.Simple fact is if, you increase the population in an area and don't increase the supply of housing and services, such as doctors and schools, local people will be affected.
What's that got to do with the question being asked here? The more we push people who being affected on day to day basis to the likes of BNP.

No, of course BNP voters aren't racist. Heaven forfend.0 -
It is relevant when the OP has tried speaking to them about it and gets the 'don't speak English' card being played.Make £2025 in 2025
