I'm sorry if I'm being thick but if 72 pound was deducted from my working tax I'd be left with about 28 pound a week I'm only on 400 a month working tax? Xx
you would keep your wtc, but the ESA would be reduced by the amount of etc you receive.
if its more than £72 a week, you would receuve no ESA ( assessment rate) but would have NI credits paid for you

I've just written a post about my entitlements being self-employed and pregnant. I had SPD with my last pregnancy and know it will rear it's head again. It's horrible and there's no way you could continue to work. I can't offer much help but I hope you find the answers you need and can get some help.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0

I'm assuming it's something that has different levels of severity?
Not asking to be rude, I honestly don't know much about it.
Yes it does I'm currently in agony with it I can hardly walk. My job is very physical and also I walk from home to home caring for the elderly (I don't drive) x0 -

you would be entitled to more housing and council tax benefit, although you would already be receiving help with nursery costs through wtc.

you need to look into SSP first, as if youre entitled to it, then you wont need to claim ESA.

I don't earn 111 a week which is what's needed for ssp. And I know I get nursery help but without my wage I don't know how I'm gonna be able to put 40 a week towards nursery whilst also paying bills etc. I'm gonna be down 400 a month which is a lot of money? I feel really stressed I don't know where to start! X0 -
Whilst you are still receiving WTC your options are limited. Both ESA (Income Related) and Income Support will take the WTC into account i.e. they will take the amount of WTC off anything you might get on ESA or IS. However, simply being in receipt of one or other of these income related benefits opens the door to other assistance such as Housing Benefit.
ESA is your main option as it continues to pay NI Credits even if you don't get a cash payment. IS is more 'brutal' as you qualify for payment or you don't qualify at all.0 -
as i said... you wont receive income related ESA.
did you work and pay NI during the tax years 11/12 and 12/13? if you did, you may be able to claim contributions based ESA.
if not, i personally dont see the point in making an ESA claim as your NI credit will be paid anyway because you claim child benefit.
contact your local council and tell them you want to report a change of circumstances. this should all be pretty straughtforward to sort out.
i think you would already be receiving the maximum amount of ctc, but you may get extra wtc. either way you need to phone them and tell that that you are off work sick.
the only thing i can suggest with the nursery is that you either cut down the hours that your child attends or temporarily withdraw them.
if you do this you would lose the childcare element, but this may enable you to claim some ESA.
if you are awarded any amount of income related ESA, you would be entitled to full housing benefit and council tax support.
finanlly ... isnt the father of your child contributing?
and the father of your unborn child?
