http://www.tomcatspecialneeds.co.uk/products-tomcat-the.htm here is a local company to me (gloucestershire) providing custom made bikes for the disabled that sounds ideal for your little girl, she would then be able to take part and get enjoyment and a little exercise in her day to day life. im not sure how much they are but there are grants etc available this is a quote from tomcat website "Who can help?
There are many National children's charities that will fund tricycles. Tomcat is well known to many of these, and we can put you in touch, though the actual application must come from you. They will invariably require support information from your Physio, Social worker or other such professional but it is best to give them a call to ask if they can help and how you should apply.
Additionally your local library holds a directory of all registered charities, with information on what they will fund and how much they may contribute. The librarian may also be able to give you contacts for local charities such as the Lions, Rotary, Round Table, Masonic lodges, Fire Service, Police, and many more. Local papers too, often like to champion a good cause"proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0 -
hello there, we used to have one of these, they are brilliant
(changed it for a little wheelchair, which is really awkward to push and not as comfy for dd either, stay with the major buggy as long as possible)
we got it from wheelchair services, often these departments will say no the first couple of times but if you keep to the velvet steamroller approach they tend to say yes after a while, lol
another place that gives grants for things is www.cerebra.org.uk give them a try for the funding , hth0 -

Does anybody know wher I could hire one of these buggies or wher I could buy one for less than 199.00. My little girl (8) has special needs and can't walk for long periods. I can't bear another summer of staying at home with her while my husband and son go off and do stuff. At least we if we have a buggy when she gets tired we can put her in it and carry on at present one of us ends up either staying at home or sitting in the car. I have tried freecycle but no luck and ebay but they are popular and have numerous bids. Our local social services are getting back to me sometime in the near future! And the wheelchair services don't provide them anymore! Any help gratefully received.
