    Back Comping in 2024!
  • I won a cruise to Barbados last dec and it was for 2 people, didn't realise this when I entered (as I have 2 children under age 4 and couldn't go without them), I explained this to daily mail who ran the comp, and they paid the extra air fair/ room upgrade for my two daughters! so cant see there being an issue with not taking any children - well done on win X
  • There's no need to get personal - people usually enter competitions blindly without reading T&Cs.

If the company do not want to give it to me, that's fine, they can redraw it.

I can see you're very frustrated with this situation, maybe take some deep breaths. I'm in a really happy place with my life and do not wish to be dragged down.

However, I wish you the best in your competition entering :)

If they're picky just book with two kids and turn up at the airport and advise check in that they both cane down ill and couldn't travel :)
  • Ignore sax11 - there is always a ridiculous comment posted by him/her which is clear jealousy or wanting to make another person feel bad.

You had every right to enter and I am very pleased you won! :)
    BANGARANG :j
  • unless the terms state otherwise I dont see the problem, I have a family with 3 kids and of course it would be lovely to win a holiday for the 4 of us and pay extra for the little one as going anywhere on holiday costs alot with all of us ,thats why we havent been abroad yet... but i would not hold it against anyone entering who didnt have a family and I would not call them greedy. Like I say if the terms dont specify this then anyone can enter and anyone can win! If you want to blame anyone then blame the promoters... I have been lucky enough 2 win holidays for 2 on 2 occasions to New York and Jamaica ( we left the kids with grandma) haha, The best experiences ever! I hope you enjoy your holiday an huge congrats! Holiday wins are the best!:T

Congratulations, I also enter family holidays when there are just two of us. We are in need of a holiday just as much as the next person!

Plus, it's cheaper to send 2 people on holiday rather than a family. So in some ways we are doing them a favour!

Although i'm sure we could also borrow my bf's nephews if there really was an issue! (doesn't say that they have to be your kids!)

Anyways, enough ranting (don't like judgey compers!) Fingers crossed for you. I hope it works out!

Well done OP! :) Hope you can go :)

I don't see the point of that - holidays are hard enough to pay for as a family so having a singleton go for it seems pure greed

I might start going for the wedding & baby stuff just for the hell of it :D

I don't like to argue, but how often do you see singleton holidays on offer? I can't think of any I have seen. I enter family holidays, and hope that it will work in my favour one day. I certainly don't have the money to buy a holiday even as one person, I've only ever been on holiday once because of that, so I dream of winning a holiday!

I do enter the baby comps, and give anything I win in that category to friends with babies :)
I just enter and forget...hoping to win something! :)
