Seventh Anniversary Combo Breaker I won, I won, I won!
edited 7 August 2014 at 2:04PM in I won! I won! I won!
:j

just won a holiday to a Chateau in France

great timing as i've just got my passport

however..
it is for 2 adults, 2 children
Now, I don't have any children

would I still be able to go with a friend and void the 2 childrens spaces?

I won it from sainsburys and I think the holiday is being arranged by virgin...

thanks all for your help in advance

and thanks weeowens, over the moon, shall be a great last break before my stressful last year at university!

Seeing as it was advertised as a family holiday and it was sponsored by a company that makes baby food they would be quite within their rights to say no. Until they get in touch though nobody will really know. In the past some haven't been bothered but some have.
  • True, but it is from Sainsburys Magazine so I would think not everyone who had entered it would have had children

    :)

I guess I will have to wait it out.

    Lovely win :)

The terms state clearly: Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available. No part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.

You might also want to have a read of this thread and the advice/links contained about the issues of entering family comps if you don't fit the 'criteria' in the Ts&Cs

Good luck when contacting the company providing the prize, and I hope you get the outcome you want, but also be prepared for a negative outcome too! HTH

  • Cheers for that Biker :)

I will not be asking for extra benefits, just to disregard the 'child' part of the prize.

Just watch out for the 'non-negotiable' aspect of the prize terms! ;)

All you can do is ask! GL :)

It brings to mind Only Fools & Horses when Rodney won the drawing comp for a holiday to Spain :)
  • We're all evenly entitled to it! :)

Congratulations. I guess only time will tell... keep us updated though.

I enter family - typical 2 adults 2 children comps but only have one child, I have always assumed they'd be happy with that considering they won't have to pay for the 4th person. So hopefully it will be the same for you. I have read about people being disqualified before though. x
