I am fully aware of the economics but Bouygues has big gaps in coverage. Without Orange (or SFR) 'to fill in the gaps' I would have had loads of deadspots in Paris and had to use wifi.
Free mobile is a new startup so it's coverage isn't particularly worth mentioning. If it isn't cost effective for 3 to allow you to use your allowance on a foreign network then they aren't going to allow it. Maybe they couldn't strike a decent deal with SFR and the other networksThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Free has primarily urban coverage - it relies on a domestic roaming agreement with Orange IIRC.
The OP will probably be outside coverage.NiftyDigits wrote: »Having you tried to select an alternative network manually? Between Bouygues and Free. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi, thanks for suggestions re tethering (3 didn't mention this when I rang enquiring about 'Feel at Home', but I should have read the small print), I have tried manually connecting with no improvement and at present I have given up and turned the phone off, saves the disappointment!0
