Applying for Halifax mortgage in-branch

Hi everyone,
After toing and froing with an unreliable mortgage broker, we have decided to apply to Halifax directly and have an appointment in-branch to arrange the mortgage.
We are hoping that this will be pretty straightforward and we will finally be sorted with our application.
Can anyone please tell me how long (roughly) we can expect to wait for the valuation to be instructed and underwriting, following an in-branch application?
Thank you in advance!

Have you been told it needs to be done in 2 meetings?
We were told due to changes in April it can't all be done in 1 meeting anymore?!0 -
Just make sure when you apply, the exact same detail is given and keyed on the broker app.
People going direct after using a broker maybe seemed to circumnavigate things unknowingly. I'd imagine Halifax are a big enough lender so trace discrepancies between the same system for those applying thru different channels.
Also no guarantee it'll not have the same delays therefore fighting a losing mortgage battle.

Application data is shared through members of the CML by NHunter ( run on the lenders behalf by Experian).0 -
That's helpful, cheers.0

Our broker never submitted our application. He told us it was keyed and submitted last Monday, they have no record of ever receiving it! So hopefully all will be OK...Nervous first time buyer!0 -

Yet another Estate Agent broker causing issues.
Does he not have a manager you can refer to.
You need to be careful here because as mentioned, a submission of details from you that differs from the information submitted be a broker could lead to a decline.
It appears of course that there may have been no submission.
Who has the SA302s and other documentation? The broker?I am a Mortgage Broker

Do you think that this situation is relatively common?
It appears that no application was ever made, so I am hoping that all will be OK and we will be no different to anyone who went into branch as a first point of call.
The broker has copies of the SA302 and all other documentation. We have all originals and he has copies. I am assuming that he has a responsibility to return these to us via post?
Thanks for your help.Nervous first time buyer!0
