We are off the monthly CC payment target starting blocks- £50 off the CC today.
Having a very non MSE evening though I'm afraid... planning to treat ourselves to a chinese takeaway :j Will enjoy every mouthful though, a well deserved indulgence I think
Bought a giant pork joint for a roast dinner tomorrow and to stretch out over the week too.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Got the weekly shop done yesterday at Lidl. Pork curry planned for tonight using up left over meat from the roast (there is loads and loads!) and a jar unusual sounding sauce that has been sat in the cupboard for months.
Exciting diary update, I KNOW! :rotfl: Not much else to report though and it's good (for me anyway!) to check in!Bit of a slow start to October... hard to believe we are a week in already?

Time flies eh!
Quick check of online accounts this morning and the CC min payment has gone out so added it to my spreadsheet and signature totals (I do so love updating them!).
However, all is not well as I have finally cottoned on to the change in our main current account overdraft fees!!!! !!!!!!?!!!! Not sure how on earth it has taken me so long to realise but they are extortionate?!!!!!
Slight change in priorities all of a sudden! I'm afraid our overdraft (which we go up to about £1500 each month with) wasn't included in our original debt total as we kind of had an emergency fund to offset it and weren't paying any interest but my oh my it seems things have changed!!!!
Have transferred this months emergency fund (only £500) off the overdraft but that still leaves another £1k to get rid of.
Will probably shift our debt free date back a monthNevermind... we would have wanted to get it paid off eventually anyway and I guess it would have been a lot worse if I had realised months further down the line.

I had to do the same hun with the overdraft - I put mine onto a 0% BT and included it in my overall total which is why I didn't get very far (on paper) at the beginning of the year. A right pain - the fees on mine, too, were ridiculous.Debt - CCV £3792

Can't bring myself to add the OD to my spreadsheets... too depressing and demotivating! Will just be a much slower couple of months while we pay it off :(ODs are such a nuisance to keep a track of too! Considered doing a balance transfer but the transfer fee would be about the same as the OD charges we will get during the time it will take to pay off so I don't think it would be worth the hassle.
Will see how overdrawn we are at the end of the month and then ask the bank to reduce the OD by whatever is left I think, and repeat next month!
Frustrating
Anyway, quiet day here, nothing much happening on the debt busting front. Feeling shattered, glad the weekend is nearly here!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Oooh just spotted good Lidl voucher on Facebook- £5 off a £30 shop this weekend! http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/6783.htm
Might be of use to someone reading! I'll definitely be using it! :j Might even spread the weekly shop over two visits to save £10 rather than £5Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Yes, I always overlooked my OD
however I've now not got one and glad I don't. I see where you're coming from. though and you need to do what's right for you.

I put my OD onto a 0% for 12 months - worked for me as I was paying £30 plus a month in charges! Then PADded it down over the 12 months. Have run up another OD but am thinking about doing the same come the end of the month again..........I dont count my OD as part of my debt as I repay every month..............probably not very MSE but it helps me:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
