Argh, just got all excited thinking we had squeezed under the £33k mark but I seem to have gone awry with my signature figures... still another £500 to go before we hit that milestone!
Oh well, still not doing too badly this month. Another £162 to find to hit our £800 CC target this month. Not sure we are going to make it, as things are looking tighter as the month goes on. Need to find some more things to sell!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Not much to report today, a quiet one.
Managed to earn a bit of hobby business money, but will be gobbled straight back up with hobby business expenses coming up.
Only another 13 days left of the month to ride out. Cheap and cheerful pasta for tea this evening! Next weeks food shop is going to have to be a very frugal one! Store cupboards are full so can hopefully get away with just buying fresh stuff.
Should have another £60 to add to the CCs at the end of this week, which just leaves £100 to raise to meet our target... so near and yet so far!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Thanks Steerpike!
We were lucky to have a few bits to sell last month, and a long overdue utilities refund which helped a lot too, but it has been amazing the difference simply being really focused has made. Just need to keep up the momentum... easy to be strict with yourself for a month or two, will be harder to plug away continually much longer term I suspect. So far the satisfaction or seeing the totals come down has been motivation enough, hoping it continues to be!
Another quiet day today catching up on housework. Leftover chilli for tea tonight.Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Shattered today and have been seriously lusting after and dreaming of a chinese takeaway all day! Very very nearly decided to sod it and indulge... but took out some frozen chicken at the last minute, defrosted it in the microwave and made a Thai curry instead which is now sat simmering in the slow cooker. The kind of small decisions that add up, right?
Looking forward to lazy evening eating it on the sofa in front of the TV with some (ancient) Indian type oven snacks that have been lurking in the freezer for months!
This month seems to be going so fast? So much of debtbusting seems to simply be riding out the passage of time without slipping. Another month, another paycheck, another chunk paid off...Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Afternoon everyone!
The good news is I have hit my £800 CC overpayment target for the month... but the bad news is our washing machine died at the weekend and we put it's replacement on the other previously paid off CC (you know, the one we ended up using last month and had to pay off again at the beginning of this month). Typical. BUT, I have enough ad-hoc money coming in from my little business to pay it off next week so I'm not stressing about it, just a short term temporary blight on our progress!
Still have that £200 left for the month sat untouched in our main current account and my husband is working away all this week so I'm aiming to get to payday without spending anything at all other than perhaps fresh bread/milk. The car has plenty in the tank, cupboards are full of food and a fair bit in the freezer too so should be doable.
Been fiddling about with my spreadsheet today and would really like to get under the £30k mark by the end of November. Whether we achieve it or not probably depends on how much money I can bring in so need get my head down.
Roll on the 1st of October- looking forward to a fresh month and another loan payment going out!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Good morning everyone- quite a bright fresh day out there on the school run!
Sat with some marmite toast and a coffee catching up with diaries before launching into a day of work.
Have taken some salmon fillets out of the freezer as a treat for tonight. There was a good deal on whole sides of salmon in Tescos a week or two back so I chopped one up and froze the portions- works out so much cheaper than buying the extortionate packs with a few fillets in.
Determined to have a productive day- going to knuckle down to work and then whip round the house straightening it up before it's time to pick up the kids.
Decided I am going to join in with 'Stoptober' this year, will do me good! Can donate some of the money I save to charity and hopefully have a bit extra to chuck at the CC too.Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Couldn't seem to muster the energy to rustle up anything creative with our freezer/cupboard contents yesterday evening so ended up having a random assortment of indian oven snacks that had been lurking in the freezer for some months! Quite enjoyed snacking on them watching GBBO!
We have plenty of eggs, flour, butter, and cheese in so might make a bit more effort tonight and make a quiche, we can eat it with some salad from the garden. Determined not to do another food shop until the weekend!
Haven't really had many debt busting successes to talk about this week but still trying to post daily as then I know I'm staying focusedTotal Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Morning DFWs!
Another £60.48 paid off the CC this morning :j Think that will probably be the last of the September overpayments now.
Remaining debt stands at £33,276 going into October.
Would really like to get the CC debt under the £7k next month so going to set a higher overpayment target of £900 next month. Should be doable as I know I have a bit of extra money coming in that will help.Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061
