Morning all! Feels like long time no speak!

Been a busy few weeks what with our little camping trip and then another trip visiting family over the weekend. All fun but perhaps a little more spendy than we planned overall. Not much left in the bank to carry us through the rest of this month so some careful meal planning and not spending needed for the next few weeks.

We have about £1k left on the CC, would be really nice to try and clear it before the end of next month if we can raise a bit more income! Will probably finally disappear in August though.

On the subject of August, that will mark my first diary anniversary! Wow! How time flies, I can hardly believe we are a year through our journey already! A great year it has been too.

Oh dear. You might have guessed by my absence that we have been totally rubbish this month. Worst month since we started this journey.

We have bought things. We haven't planned the food shopping very well. We have been on nights out. We have been unfocused and slack with money. Oh, and our tenants owe us about £300. Not good.

It's going to be a slower few months now to get back on track, as much of our spending has gone on the rogue CC so funds will be diverted to that until it is cleared.

On a more positive note I have some extra money coming in with my work so at least that will help get rid of it a bit quicker. DH's tax code has been amended too which gives us an extra £100 to play with.

Glad it is payday in a few days. We can draw a line under this month and really get back on top of things in July. How is it nearly July by the way??

Going to make a conscious effort to post in here daily as it does seem to make a difference to my focus levels!

Hope everyone is well, and enjoying the lovely sunshine!

Hey you have paid off half your debt in a year. That's great!! A little splurge is necessary from time to time and I'm sure it has made you even more focussed. Xx

Thanks for the kind words of encouragement!

    Back on the horse now.

Payday has arrived and I have updated my sig with new totals. I am due a few good-sized payments for my work this month so I'm hoping they might let us get rid of our CC once and for all.

Meal planning this evening and then a weekly shop tomorrow! No more top up shops!

£500 paid off the CC today following some work I was paid for. That leaves just £500 on the main credit card to clear. The 0% runs out soon so hoping to clear the rest before the end of the month.

The original plan was to focus on building up our mortgage offset savings once we cleared the CC but we need to clear the rogue CC first, and our overdraft, so it will still be a few months until we can get to that.

Current total is £16,776, and considering where we started from, the finishing line actually feels within reach today. We should be down to a 4 digit figure by the end of the year, fingers crossed.

I have a chicken to roast today but as the children have after school activities I think I might cook it now so that we can have it cold with some salad from the garden and perhaps a baked potato. A few things in my vegetable patch are nearly ready to eat now, looking forward to enjoying some garden freebies!
