Am I the only person on this planet who doesn't know what pot smells like?
It's pretty distinctive. I'd imagine that most have been around it at some point though.Gordon_Hose wrote: »It is also illegal, whether the pot heads here like it or not.
For the moment.
I'm curious, would peoples opinions be different if it was legal?0 -

I'm sure it is distinctive, I may well have smelled it in the past I just wouldn't have known what it was unless someone was smoking a joint in front of me and as yet that hasn't happened. It's someone else's fault.0 -

The young lads that live there seem to purchase "boy racer" cars and do them up on the street. Quite often you will see/smell them with a joint whilst working on the cars - very brazen about it. It was only a few months ago I was woken up by the sound of an angle grinder where they were cutting a DVLA clamp off one of the vehicles which was placed there because of the vehicle having no tax. Absolutely no regard for the law at all.
Its a rented property, is notifying the landlord an option? If so, is there anyway of finding out who the landlord is?
Do you happen to know if any of these lads has a permanent job? Because if not, there is a chance they could be Council tenants of a private landlord and it might be worth your while getting in touch with the Housing Department of your local Council first of all.
Also, you could try calling your Council's Environmental Health Department, you could do this anonymously if you wish. They are obliged to investigate any complaints received which include noise and smells, whether the householders involved are owner-occupiers, private tenants or Council tenants.
In your place though, I would think long and hard before taking any action in case I was about to open up a can of worms with these neighbours. You've intimated they're not really the approachable types!0
