Motorola Moto G won't charge

  • Same problem here and it was driving me insane as I love my moto g. I've gone through so many cables trying to figure it out. Along the way I have learned that the micro USB cable connectors are all different shapes and sizes slightly. I had only one cable that was working good, which is at my night stand, so fortunately I was able to start my days with a full charge. But if I wanted to charge my phone in the car or at work, forget about it. It would intermittently charge or the cable would pop out easily. I was about to throw the phone into a lake. Then.... I fixed it.

    1. Power off phone.
    2. Get a toothbrush, toothpick, and rubbing alcohol.
    3. Wet the toothbrush with rubbing alcohol.
    4. Tap off excess alcohol.
    5. With the phone up right, scrub the charge port, take a deep breath and blow into it. Repeat 5 times.
    6. Use the toothpick to pull out the chunck of pocket lint. Similar to bellybutton lint.
    7. Brush the port with alcohol and blow 2 more times.
    8. Let dry for 10 minutes.
    9. Power on.
    10. Test it.

Worked for me, and fortunately I didn't have to pollute a lake. Hope it works for anyone else having this problem.
