I've been having increasing problems in getting my phone won't charge. I connect the USB, connect to the mains and then most of the time it says it's not charging. If i fiddle around and jiggle the USB connector around then sometimes it starts working. However, if I move it even slightly then it stops again.

I thought it might have been the charger but have tried it on the in car charger and it is the same. I haven't been able to charge it at all today and am worried if I mess around with it any more then I will damage the USB socket (although I'm wondering if that's the problem anyway).

This phone doesn't have a removable battery and is less than a year old.

Help!

ETA just switched it off and on again and it's now charging, which is confusing.

I got it up to 91% charged and then it stopped again. I was sat next to it on the sofa and made the mistake of moving!

Turned it off again and hoping I haven't made a mistake and it doesn't die altogether!

When you tried the car charger did you use the same cable (the micro USB power lead supplied with the phone?) or a totally different one?

Could be the socket on the phone gone intermittent if you've tried two completely seperate chargers (and cables) and get the same problem.

it was a totally different cable with the charger.

I did think that myself and wondered if it would be covered under guarantee and/or would be expensive to get fixed. However, it is charging since I rebooted it, strangely.

maybe your battery indicator needs re-calibrating? Run down and charge up fully. Might be worth a try?

The wiping battery stats fix or using a battery calibration tool does not recalibrate your battery in any shape or form . The battery stat file has no relevance to the charging of the battery .

If a reboot doesn't cure and it's touch sensitive then it suggests a faulty socket on the phone should be covered by warranty unless you've knocked /dropped the phone while a plug was plugged into socket.

I've now discovered that sometimes it is charging when it says it isn't. If i connect it and it says it isn't charging but leave it, when i come back to it sometimes it says it is charging and/or the display shows it as being more charged than it was when I left it.
