The aux belt is a consumable. It wears. To that end, no, nobody is ever going to warranty it.
OTOH, it should last thousands - tens of thousands - of miles. If it's been replaced and fails again in a fortnight, it wasn't replaced properly, or the cause of the failure has not been addressed.

Recovery? That's your lookout. Do you have breakdown cover or not?

We are with the AA, but my gf/partner arranged it. She had all the details and I couldn't get in touch to find them out. ( phone was dead ). So basically I was stuffed, short of pushing the !!!!!! the last 15-20 miles.

I feel, and clearly may be incorrect, but if the work didn't fix the cause of the failure and wasn't up to scratch, then the garage have some responsibility.

My logic chain basically goes: did they do what they said they did? No. If they had would I need to pay for recovery? No.

An approximate example would be paying someone to fix a boiler in a house. Sure it could still go wrong, but if the original work wasn't fixed, and u called out an emergency engineer, that cost isn't your fault.

I understand that we can all get insurance etc to cover everything. But that should no excuse bad workmanship. If I had had an accident, my insurer would no doubt be asking questions
