    Update:

So in reply to the letter i sent, i got a response saying that an independent garage was producing a report and carrying out repairs. - ok seemed positive step.

Me: I asked which garage it was, what the fault was, what guarantees i had for the work etc. - usual kinds of questions you might ask.

Response: I was told that the pulley was damaged.

Me: can i see a copy of the report? who produced it? whats the next steps?

Response: will get the report onc ethe repairs carried out.

Me: Ok, but who is doing the work? Where is my car?

Response: I will tell you when im good and ready and you will have a bill to pay for the work

Me: Just to confirm you intend to charge me for this work? Which i havent authorised ( i havent) and should be covered under warrenty

Response: No warrenty in the land covers a aux belt.

Me: You told me what the warrenty didnt cover when i purchased it, and the aux belt was not one of those things. regardless i do not authorise any work to be carried out. Nor accept any liability for costs, you have no right to authorise costs in my name. I suggest you seek legal advice as my paperwork will arrive soon.

Response: I will be coming to see you soon :eek::eek::eek:

    Me: is that a threat?

What a turn of events. either way, i think this is going to court. (also going to the police this evening just to make sure they know the sitation incase he does turn up). Consumer direct do think i have a strong case. And there is no way i should be charged for any remedy under sale of goods act.

Secretly hoping he does turn up at my house, just makes my case stronger

LBA and going to court is the only option I can see here, I would also report to local trading standards in THEIR area as so to build a case if they get so many reports on this trader.
