Ive been told he meets criteria for for HRC + HRM and id get carers, but Im fighting his school and LEA re statementing him, and trying to deal with a4e
I applied for the form in May but DLA office advised me to wait for diag. appt in July, as un-diag claims were being rejected or being put to the bottom of the pile as theres a backlog and if he was accepted I would have to re-apply every three mnths, he has now been diag. on 21/7 only took 6yrs, so thats my next task.

Can I ask why you're fighting the statement?

Put the DLA claim in. Then when it comes back, if awarded middle rate or high rate care you can claim carers allowance and none of this will matter.

Speaking from experience, you'd be hard pushed to find childcare suitable for an ASD child who apparently fits HRC and HRM, so the issues should be pretty obvious

You don't need a diagnosis. You have to prove that your child has more care and /or mobility needs than a child his own age.

I seem to remember that once you're at the work programme, your JSA agreement is invalid or something. Were you ever given an action plan or similar when you started at A4E?
No plan of action as such, first day in i was sent into an office to put avery lables on a4 documents files, havent seen the folder or the teacher since,
next seminar was on lacal labour market teacher showed up an 1 hr late disorganised spent the next half hr waling around the building when she came back I told her I had to leave to pick up my son.
Was invited to a 6wk business enterprise course in central london, but no one was prepared to pay for childcare asked if there was any point going to seminare, advised if you dont attend your sanctioned.

those hours/searches are very generous even for a single parent, I would guess they were put in place as your son has special requirements.

A4E have to go by the same rules, they cannot sanction you as the job was outside your agreed terms.
The 3 job search thats new to me too when i was with normal JCP 6 jobs a week at 16hrs around s/times, its only since going to JCP within the a4e building they told me only to do 3 jobs per week I think everyone there only does 3 a week, I never told anyone at JCP or a4eson has SEN until the call from a4e recruiter

I know, but I just couldnt deal with re-submitting every 3 mnths.
  • To OP:
Claim DLA - if you get mid rate care, (£54.45), then you get to claim Carers Allowance (£61.35) & can get an Income Support top up.
It will also get u extra £3100 Disabked ctc & you get more help with housing benefit too.
Also contact the ASD charity as there is loads of help out there.

Where does the 3 months come from? Everyone's awards are different lengths depending on the prognosis. I have a feeling it's a minimum of a year.

Hi, basically I was called by an employee of A4e on 30/6/ called Shaheed, advising me that I had to come to the office the next day at 14.30 as he had a cleaning job for me (great I thought, better than nothing)....he told me if I didn’t come I would be sanctioned for refusal of employment

Withdraw your consent for A4E to contact third-parties on your behalf, you must have agreed to sign a waver when you started the course. Withdrawing consent will mean that A4E cannot pass your details to third-parties and you won't be continually threatened with sanctions for spurious reasons.

Dont take it as gospel, this what what the lady at the DLA advised me based on an application without a formal diag. I guess it may quciker for them to process those ones, who knows.

All went well this morn. no problems, sign on nxt thur. @ a4e
I figure now, I will just continue to do my job search until DLA is processed.
Id like to think the letters of complaint will stop them trying to screw me up. But im not holding my breath.
