Hi, me and my husband bought a couples massage package for 10 massages by making advance payment of £450 using credit card in December 2013 at Tantalizing Spa, Pimlico. We availed 3 massages out of 10. When we went in to book our next massage, we were told at the shop counter that the people who used to run the massage shop have suddenly disappeared and now the shop is being managed by other people (even though the name of the shop remains the same). The lady at the counter was very rude and said that she cannot give us couples massage that the rate at which we paid in advance because that's a loss for her and also that she did not take the payment from us but the earlier people who were managing the shop at that time. We have the credit card payment receipt as proof of payment. What can we do to recover the money back?

Have a read of this:

specifically the case entitled"
It's about 1/3 of the way down the page.86/03
credit card provider misinterprets the financial limits that apply to
claims made under section 75
It is basically the same sort of thing as your case, and as you also paid by credit card, the card issuer is liable for any breech of contract.0 -

Sounds like they was effectively a small business within the grounds of another business trading as sole traders and effectively it is now under new ownership.
contact the CC company for reimbursement0 -
I'd contact the credit card company to get a 70% refund.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
