This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Had a busy day yesterday but despite DD's MRI scan in the morning and a bit of a panic attack on her part, we managed to have a lovely afternoon with yet another barbecue and the sun made an appearance too. Results from the scan will be approximately one week, thanks everyone for the good wishes.
Molly - it's so lovely to see you here and on FB too, Please take care of you x
sistercas - belated happy anniversary for yesterday
Judi - thank you for the baby house updates, I love to see them here and follow them on FB too, as does one of my SA friends
Hope the weather stays good as I left washing out overnight!
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Good Morning chums, lovely day yesterday at Westgate, on the beach from lunchtime until around 5 .The boys went into the sea swimming, and there was a very pleasant breeze blowing .
DD then took the kids 'crabbing' and I sat and drank lots of tea and coffee and watched the children playing on the beach.
Smashing family beach there and lots of room for the kids as most folk go along to the next beach round the point at Margate where there are lots of 'musements and noise.
On Westbrook there is a small ice cream kiosk and a cafe and thats it .But a great sandy beach and lots of little pools to 'crab' in.
Very OS and little money was spent as DD bought us all 99's and it was lovely just to sit and relax.Roll on 15th when were off on our holibobs
Hope you all have a good day what ever you are doing. This morning I will have to pop back home from Dds with the youngest Mikey to let the gardener in, then this afternoon I shall get the boys making biscuits.Tomorrow I hope to take them blackberrying so I can get some for the freezer.I love HM apple and blackberry crumble in the winter. Its a taste of summer gone by:):)
Cheers chums enjoy the sunshine if you have any

Morning all,
Nice day here again off to work for dd and I we are off to the same place today so saves a bit of running round. Its my favourite day today client wise there is a young man who has not spoken for a couple of years who seems to open up to me, I bet he will ask me to make a chocolate cake with him
Tacos for dinner tonight and we need to do the shopping, OH listed on ebay yesterday and there seems to be a lot of interest already.
Also need to do a wash tonight and have a tidy round.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Light cloud and overcast, looks like the sun will break through. Watered plants and greenhouse.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, he is going to pick DS1 up on his way past in a while.
Lunch yesterday was a “use up” of what food we brought back whilst away, so we had burgers in buns, sausages, new potatoes, and salad. Tonight will be pasta with a carbonara sauce and breaded chicken pieces, but the hairdresser is coming tonight so dinner may be a bit late.
Back to work for me today, will be busy as it’s near the 1st of the month, at least the day goes by quickly though.
Take care in the sun and warm weather, remember the sunscreen x
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone
Well I've had a 'wet and weepy' weekend as I've tried to come to terms with my diagnosis. I'm going to have a little moan here so feel free to skip this bit! Most of the people I've spoken to about it tell me that it is 'probably a good thing' that I have diabetes now as it will force me into a healthier lifestyle :mad:. I feel very upset by this and it must show in my face as they hastily back pedal. I know I had a rubbish diet so I suppose I do deserve it but it is still a very hard thing to come to terms with, especially in the early days when I have little information or support. End of moan.
sistercas - glad you had a lovely anniversary just pottering. Home grown veg sounds lovely too.
TTFTM - I'm also glad the MRI went well for your DD. Hopefully the results will be good for her.
JackieO - your days out with your grandsons always sound brilliant, you are making some fantastic memories for them.
Judi - I also wanted to say how much I love your updates from the baby house. I think your daughter and her partner are amazing ladies xx
I must go and get DD11 up and ready in a minute for activity day at her new school. I believe she is going to be painting a cow! She has already said she is going to sneak in as many Dr Who references into the design as she can so she is going to channel her inner nerd. I will be trying to get the other 2 DD's doing something rather than staring at a screen today too. Maybe swimming or a trip to the beach. I've said DD13 can try out for cheerleading at the end of the month so no doubt I will be looking for gym wear for her.
OS wise, I will be cooking a very healthy chicken and vegetable curry and generally tidying up after a messy weekend. My washing is coming to meet me out of the basket too so I will have to get on top of that (not literally...I'm just picturing myself scaling Mount Washmore with flag in hand!) I may even make a cake as I have a lemon that needs using up.
I hope everyone here has a lovely day whatever they are up to. Take care xx0 -
Morning All,
Didn't sleep well last night, I was awake from 12-3!! So I'm a bit weary.

Good morning all,
A lovely day here at the moment and so much cooler and more comfortable.
DUMPLING can I just say no one DESERVES diabetes. I know sometimes people don't think before they speak, and probably think they are being helpful. Look on this as another challenge in life and please make a nuisance of yourself at the surgery and ask for the support you are entitled to expect. Also read as much as you can on the Diabetes UK website.
JUDI are they not just gorgeous, you must be so proud of your DD and her partner and what a difference they are making to so many lives.
MOLLY lovely to see you posting, and pleased you are home. Is your op still on for this month and so pleased you realise your health is priority.
Nothing special happening today, popping to Mr A for cat litter and food (how exciting) and visiting DD for coffee.
this afternoon must sort the shelving out in the living room and change things around.
Have a good day everyone

Morning :hello:
dandy-candy I'm thrilled with the potsShe was going to let us know what was available and let us have first choice, I'd put some money by for them and was going to spend up to that amount. The money is still in the envelope, I'll use it to buy her something but will have to find out what she likes, I don't know her that well. Mr tru knows her but he's a bloke and pays no attention to that sort of thing

Judi Lovely photos
Nice to see you Molly xx
dumpling  Ignore them and just concentrate on looking after yourself xx
Master tru came home with a gecko yesterdayHe's a lovely little thing, with skin like velvet.
I need to chop and freeze tomatoes today. There's lots of Golden Sunrise which are my favourite. They're lovely in pasta sauce but because they're yellow, the colour of the sauce takes a bit of getting used to
The blackberries are black but definitely not ready, I picked a couple to test them and they're still sour. Wish they'd hurry up (along with FIL's apples!), I'm looking forward to apple and blackberry crumbles.
Feeling a bit rubbish this morning so will just potter about today. This is becoming a bit of a habit that I should probably break
