If an office, you are probably looking at some kind of Router/MiFi.
Of course we have no idea how many people are in the office and how much Internet they are likely to use. Should we guess?
Are you sure that business is your forte?0 -
Thanks for taking the time to reply,
It just little old me in the office, so i just need a wireless dongle for my laptop as I said.
So there is no need for guesswork,
As for business being my forte, I'm doing OK so far, thanks for asking!0 -
How much data do you expect to need?0
-
Its just for emails and a bit of web browsing, so not a massive amount, never really quantified it before always just had unlimited.
I;m only in the office 4 days a week too so Id say its fairly minimal.0 -
3G mifi gizmo plus 3Gb that'll last 3 months from three, for £59.99:

Sorry...forgot about you.
The cheapest way to get online is thus:
Pop into Argos to get this Vodafone USB modem for £11.99. Supposedly has 1GB of data included. Fine if you are sure that you'll not need more than 1GB and that you won't need it for more than one month. I wouldn't bank on either.
Next option is to pop into Argos to get this T-Mobile USB modem for £5.99. You may have to buy a £10 top up voucher at the same time.
Order a separate T-Mobile SIM from here for £0.99p. Comes replete with £5 of credit.
Pop the SIM into the modem, add the £10 of credit and then purchase the 1 month of Internet bundle for £15.
These options come up when you have connected via the modem and then you try to browse.
So £16.98 in total for the modem and one month of 'unlimited' Internet use.
Bear in mind that you get 1GB of data usage for downloads/uploads. The rest is for Internet browsing and email etc.
Order the SIM asap, as it takes a couple of days to arrive.
Of course if you can't wait, you can just use the SIM that comes with the modem and add £15 of credit. That way the overall cost would be £20.99.
But then, if you were going to spend £21, then you should consider moving into the 21st century by obtaining this Vodafone MiFi from Argos for £24.99. It comes supplied, allegedly, with 2GB of data for the month.
You can connect up to five pieces of equipment via WiFi at a time. So much more versatile. You can also connect via USB if your PC does not have a Wireless connection.
They only cost £1 to unlock for use with any network SIM.
If you think that you'll need Internet for more than a month or that you may use more data than you previously imagined, then this T-Mobile MiFi for £21.99 from Argos should be your choice.
In this case, you would then unlock it for free or for 99p and then use it in conjunction with this EE 6GB/90 day SIM for £14.99. Total of £38 for an unlocked MiFi and up to three months of Internet.
Don't say that I don't look after you.0 -
Checking which networks are going to work indoors at your location is going to be important. You can see which cells are near using - http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/
Make sure that you don't get anything too soon to return it if it doesn't work - often the return periods are very short so check when buying.
If it's just email and occasional browsing 3GB should be adequate and probably 1GB too but make sure you have a topup option. Use an ad blocker to reduce usage a bit. Opera Turbo is supposed to reduce bandwidth and maybe some other browsers can too - I've never tried this.0 -
Cheers for all the responses guys! Invaluable help! you really know your stuff!0

impressive post, must have taken a lot of effort
do you know any good inexpensive alternative for a 3 month PAYG, not heavy user (let's say 2GB per month) ?NiftyDigits wrote: »Sorry...forgot about you.
