Hi Goldiegirl - as long as you enjoy what you read, no need to be embarrased about it :)

It's the beauty of the Kindle - no one can see what you are reading!

    Morning.

The predicted rain is here and so I suspect today will be a day pottering around inside. I know there is plenty of motorbike racing on today and since I got my garden jobs done yesterday, I will be able to watch it without feeling guilty I should be outside doing something else instead! :T

Very true about the e readers. I have a Kindle too which I love - particularly for travelling. However, I do still love books and tend to swap between both depending on mood and what I want to read.
I've just started a new book on the Kindle - Eeeny Meeny. It's a crime thriller and supposed to be good and so looking forward to getting stuck into that

Is it just me or does time seem to be whizzing past quicker than ever these days?!

I had a niggling headache for most of yesterday so came home from work and had a quiet couple of hours followed by a very early night. Feeling better today.

Weather was beautiful all day until I was on the way home and there was a humdinger of a storm with the heaviest rain I've ever seen! I much prefer the nice dry days we had a few weeks ago. Mind you it's doing the garden good I guess and saves me from having to water the neighbours plants :p

I've received another £6 from survey payments which has been OP'd. Getting closer to that mini target for the month :T

I'm now in my pj's (anyone else do this? :o) and firmly attached to the sofa catching up on some viewing and browsing the web.

    BW :)

To be honest BW, the biggest problem I'm finding with hosting students isn't (a) the noise and smells of teenage boys (genuine factual finding based on the lads we've had staying, not a sexist comment, I assure you) (b) the extra laundry (c) the queuing for the bathroom ... it's the fact I have to stay 'up' and dressed beyond 7pm like a respectable house-mother (!), when all I really want to do is cosy up in PJs in the manner you describe! :rotfl:

When the house is back to ourselves I shall revert straight back to my snuggling type, I assure you!

Linwood Barclay I've found to be like the little girl with the curl right in the middle of her forehead ... when good, very good, when bad, quite carp in fact! Hope you've won a good one! x

Thanks for stopping by Hbb. I have to confess to having a wry smile at your description of the trials and tribulations of the student hosting :D

Very pleased to know that I'm not alone in my like of pj's/snuggling down though :T

Not much to report on the money front. No OP's today and still too far from pay day for my liking lol.

    *sneaks in*

I've got a rare afternoon off and it feels a bit naughty but in the nicest way :D I was going to do some chores and run some errands and other generally useful tasks but have decided instead to chill out and catch up on some web surfing and tv viewing instead.

So as not to totally abandon the MSE thinking - I have put a claim into Q'co for some cashback owing on my grocery shop. Good job I checked as the last date is today or I would have missed it

Btw for anyone interested, the book I mentioned the other day is turning out to be a good one :T It's been a while since a book has kept me in suspense and guessing as long as this one has so far

    Hello there!

It's good to have time to please yourself and generally chill out:)

I'm now reading The Hunger Games. It was one of Mr Goldie's purchases. He likes what I call 'alternate world' fiction

My personal favourite is historical fiction and also the type of story that has strand in the past and one in the present.
