I've not been posting for a while now. I had to take a break from MSE as I was finding it was taking over my life in an unhealthy way. I didn't stop my MSE ways (well a bit more spendy but not too bad) - just a break from posting.
I've been slowly spending more time here again, and reading rather than posting, in last few weeks. Still not sure whether I will come back to posting FT - but will see. However, I will do an end of year wrap up shortly

Hi BW:wave:
I've more or less had a year out from MSE, as had started to feel I was getting a bit dysfunctional about spending money, so I felt I needed the break for a while.
However, I missed everyone on MFW board, so I intend to post more often in 2018 ( but not let it take over my life! :rotfl: )
Well done on all your 2017 achievementsEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Thank you Cath, Hiddenshadow and Goldiegirl - lovely to 'see' you all
Trying to start the year on a positive note... I've actually unpacked and sorted all my Christmas stuff. Usually, it's there until Easteror if I need the spare room should that come first :rotfl:

Our spare room is completely full of boxes and things to put away....my guess it'll be there until late February, when my mother is coming to visit.0

Can't believe another year has passed! Time really does seem to fly these days!
Although I don't post much these days, I do read diaries as & when I can. I am also trying to keep to MSE ways (in the main). The odd holiday does creep in thoughHaving said that, I've been keeping to a budget this year better than ever before and it seems to be working for me, so will carry that through in to this year.
I'm really hoping this year will be a good one for me. The big change is I will be starting a new job in the spring, and I can't wait. Looking forward to a new work adventure and seeing what the future holds.
Wishing everyone a great and prosperous 2019

Ok so here is a summary of where I ended up at the end of 2018:
LTV - 53.65% (down from 59.26%).
- well on course for being below 50% by the time next remortgage due in 2020
Balance - £61,700 - yes had to round this down(down from £68,150)
End date - reduced by another 10 months - now July 2028
Daily interest - £3.22 (down from £3.47)
OP's for 2018 - £3,002.88 (up a little from last year which I'm pleased with as had some big holidays this last year, so feel this is a v good result for me)
Total OP's since starting MFW - £20,210.70 :j
Surveys - back to more typical levels - £660.80 (I've definitely taken my foot off the pedal with these and so pretty happy to still get a decent amount of what I consider to be easy extra money for little effort)
So not massive figures - but I'm plodding along - and continuing to head in the right direction

Hi BW, great progress and figures. Have you managed to knock 10 months off your end date during 2018, that's amazing!
We've a similar end date, currently March 2028 here but hoping to knock 3 months off this year. New fixed rate kicks in April which will help a lot.
Are you going to be popping in more regularly?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Lovely to see you BW, fab progress x0
