Signal Issues.
Options
I took a contract out with Phones4U (went with EE) in October 2013, since having the phone I've been extremely limited to the use of texts/calls and having to rely on internet to make calls or send messages to others as my signal is beyond awful.
I've tried to speak to EE about the issue and they fob me off with the excuse that they don't deal with 3rd party contracts which is fair enough but then Phones4U say that It's EE's issue to deal with.
EE are saying I should of used their "signal checker" before taking the contract out, however nothing is ever said of this until you contact them. Phones4U told me the coverage in my area would be adequate to use the phone as I needed, which lead me to taking the contract out but as I said before, now I'm stuck in a loop.
Is there anything I can do regarding this as I'm paying £40 a month for a phone I can't really use other than when It's connected using WiFi.
I'm not sure If I'm right in saying that Phones4U aren't correctly fulfilling the contract so doesn't that make it void to an extent?

October 2013? After more than 9 months into the contract, you have no hope whatsoever of getting the contract voided without penalty.
Why did you not complain straight away?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I've been complaining since the very start and have been fobbed off with excuses every time, they're always trying to blame the other company.
They can even look at my account and see I've rarely used my supposed unlimited minutes due to their shoddy service.0 -
Is the phone faulty or is it just in a specific area that you cannot use the phone?0

The phone is fine, I'm unable to use the phone being of shoddy reception. I literally have to go outside and wait most times just to get 1 bar of signal. It's like there's sweet spots for it throughout my house.0 -
In our house there was no or almost no signal with any provider. We found that out when we moved. We ended up using a vodafone sure signal which resolved the problem. Do EE have an equivalent?0

They sure do, but since they decommissioned several of the masts, there seems to be a 2 month waiting list :mad:0 -

Yes, EE signal box and that would solve the OP's problem.
EE should provide this for free in the circumstances (but it can be very difficult to get them to agree to this). In theory, on a £40/month contract, they shouldn't take too much persuading.
Try and get hold of Martin Plummer in level 2 tech support.

If your contract is with EE, that's whom you should be dealing with, not P4U.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

That you for all the help guys, I'll be getting in contact with EE tomorrow and see If I can persuade them to give me one of these signal boxes.0

My advice to anyone reading these posts and considering taking out a contract with any phone company is to check the signal yourself in the location most used rather than believe anyone else, either in a shop or a telephone sales person.
Shop staff and mobile phone reps are notorious for telling lies about coverage, it's how they get their commission!0
