BEST 42 LCD TV THAT YOU CAN FIND - challenge

i used pixmania - dont go there, if things go wrong ur gonna be up the swannie. also u only get a 2 pin plug as there european tvs . so id say no just 4 the sake of saving a few quid
as regards to cheap uk sites , there is LETSHAVE-IT.CO.UK, excellent prices theres also AJ ELECTRONICS- well cheap too and LASKYS are good value .
in the av forums most new owners say plasma is the way to go
so if u go 4 a plasma - the SAMSUNG PS42Q97HD is a fantastic looking tv and has all the ticks in all the right boxs and less than £700 at those mentioned sites . free delivery too .
hope this helps and all the best0 -
I would stretch your budget slightly and go for the latest Samsung which is £724 at Currys and there is a £30 discount code (AW30JULY) makes it £694 and if you have a Egg Card there is 7% cashback or 3.5% Quidco
http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/306725
Apparently Currys/Dixons have there own model number but its the same as this one

get 5% off using code YAW795 and quidco etc...0 -
All, im sorry to bump this to the top.
However, I just wanted to say a big thanks to the team that helped me pick my new samsung PS42Q96HD which is currys equivalent of the PS42Q97HDX apart from a small cosmetic silver strip at the bottom.
I ordered mine (finally ) this mornign from currys, it was £724 but after a discount code of AW60AUG = minus £60 it took it down to £660 delivered.
I think this is a an absolute bargain, thanks again guys

Nice one , you wont regret it
Just dont have the brightness or contrast on high for the first 200 hours to let it run in.0 -
Deanos, I found some optimum settings on the av forum that your recommended which they say are good for run in time, so I will tinker with that when I get it. Excited.0

The Tosh C Series doesn't get very good write ups, picture blurring colours not sharp for example. Much better with the X Series, or even picture frame X Series.
Personally I am waiting for the Z Series which is due end of September and is one of the new thinner LCD's 1080P and 3 HDMI Ports.Cheers

I am really interested in your comments!
My onlu concern is that this TV does not have fastext and according to the spec, it does not have a flat screen? Does this not cause you any problems?0 -
Tell you tommorow when it arrives. Seen it in currys before I took the plunge and it was absolutely stunning. Good picture, looks and sound.
Best to have a search on AV forum for the model number and you will see that its also well recommended.0
