BEST 42 LCD TV THAT YOU CAN FIND - challenge

hello there everybody

Im in the market for a 42" lcd. Does anybody know what the best price out there is ?

I have searched on all the usual comparison sites and the best that I can find via pricerunner is £625 + 11.80 delivery - £11.00 discount for using the price runner discount code so that comes to £625.80 delivered.

TOSHIBA REGZA 42C3000PG LCD Television FROM PIXMANIA.COM

Does anybody know if this one is any good and has anybody used pixmania ?

Also if this is the best deal out there, do any of the cashback sites cover pixmania ? I generally one use quidco.

    The best 42" is a plasma ;)

Most TV's come with Freeview now, i guess the Pixmania one is a European import its on the Toshiba France website but not the UK one , Pixmania is based in France so you may need to send it back for a repair which will cost alot of money.

i used pixmania - dont go there, if things go wrong ur gonna be up the swannie. also u only get a 2 pin plug as there european tvs . so id say no just 4 the sake of saving a few quid
as regards to cheap uk sites , there is LETSHAVE-IT.CO.UK, excellent prices theres also AJ ELECTRONICS- well cheap too and LASKYS are good value .
in the av forums most new owners say plasma is the way to go
so if u go 4 a plasma - the SAMSUNG PS42Q97HD is a fantastic looking tv and has all the ticks in all the right boxs and less than £700 at those mentioned sites . free delivery too .
hope this helps and all the best

Agree with the advice. Go for a plasma if you want the 42 inch. Far better picture quality. I have one of these from John Lewis and its the "dogs wotsits". Not the cheapest but they will price match with a bricks and mortar store but you get a 5 year guarantee with it.

Does that apply to all screen sizes now or just the large ones above 32"?? I always thought LCD had the edge these days due to screen burn etc with plasma....

The smallest plasma is 37" , screen burn is not really an issue nowadays.

Samsung or Panasonic are the ones to go for when getting a Plasma.

yeah but its pretty negligable. There is next to no difference in pic quality between lcd/plasma - especially if you're going for the most budget model you can find.
