    Hello everyone

I'm sorry that I've been AWOL. My cat was hit by a car last week and she died. I adored her - she really helped keep me company, especially when I first got ill and hadn't a clue what was going on. She was very much 'my' cat (we have three others). She was called Willow, hence my user name :o. I know that a lot of you will understand the deep sadness of losing a companion like this. I will miss her like mad. :( I am feeling a lot more steady now, though, so wanted to come on her for some normality and to feel cheered by all of your company :)

My low spend August was scuppered by the amazing Regis deals  Many thanks to Sundaysgirl for posting about it in the first place :A It's very funny that she took down about half the board with her! :rotfl::rotfl:

I bought this lot first of all:

Tigi Catwalk Root Boost Spray 250ml
Paul Mitchell Extra Body Finishing Spray 250ml
    DESIGNLINE Reactive Style Refresher 200ml
Wella Sp 24 Remove Lotion 125ml
Tigi Bed Head Moisture Maniac Moisturising Conditioner
Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Caper Bag (The Detangler conditioner, Instant Moisture Daily Shampoo and the Worked Up spray)

I used the Paul Mitchell shampoo/conditioner once and liked it so much that I placed a second order:

Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Caper Bag
DESIGNLINE Cashmere Kera-Forte Fortifying Sealant 125ml
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum 25ml

I'm not sure that the Wella Remove lotion is quite the right thing for me. I think I need something more soothing but at least it didn't irritate my scalp. Tresemme are launching a new scalp soothing lotion and I'd like to try that. The Paul Mitchell products have made my hair heavy and silky, which is what I really wanted. I have very long untreated hair but it is on the dry side (I only need to wash it once a week which is a blessing.)

To make matters worse, I have another IN :o:

    Lalique Hommage A L'Homme (50ml)

This was the only perfume on my wish list and I spotted it for £14.95 instead of £60 so I grabbed it. I love it! It has quite a sweet violet note to it but it's also a bit smokey and spicy. I don't have anything else like it :) (I also wear both the male and female Issey Miyake perfumes.)

I added a reduced Burt's Bees lip balm set to my order to get free P&P. I love the lip balm (one of my favourites) but it came with a mini tin of hand salve which I mistook for lip balm and put straight onto my lips. YUK. :rotfl:

So. Time for a reset. No more spending on anything except essentials...

My blooming Regis order hasn't arrived yet, wish they would get their skates on.

When did you order? I didn't get the despatch emails until they day the order actually arrived, but if you've been waiting as long as I think you have, I'd be tempted to give them a call.

On Sunday the pond pump gave up the ghost and blew our electrics and we've just got back home tonight to find the toilet is leaking....... :(

Oh no! I hope that you've now used up all your bad luck for a good long while.

No it's this coming Saturday/Sunday, I am spending the week pampering and making sure my hair and skin is in fantastic condition! More for me than for them, I want to feel on top form! Luckily my hair is looking fab but the same can't be said for my skin so that's where most of the effort is going!

How are things with you? :)

I hope you have a lovely time getting to know each other :) And what better excuse for a week long pamper session :D My skin hasn't been any worse after changing to a cheapo moisturiser instead of the EL stuff, which is a blessed relief to my purse. One or two bottles of Advanced Night Repair a year I can just about handle, but £50 a pop moisturiser would be taking the pee on my salary!

I have been sans children for a fortnight, it was lovely to have my DH more or less all to myself :) Picked my boys up on Sunday afternoon though, they were very pleased to see us and the feeling was mutual. But the icing on the cake was getting to spend the day with my bestie :j Her twin boys are 20 months now and both walking, a miracle as they were both mega premature and the littlest suffered a huge brain bleed when he was a few days old. They were told he would be paralysed on one side so to see him toddling around completely unaided made me cry buckets of happy tears. I didn't even mind when he peed on me :rotfl:

I have made a few small purchases as we are off on holibobs on Saturday; tonnes of shower gel, shampoo and condish for the girls (they're staying with my inlaws so I needed extras, plus I don't want to share my Tigi Goodies :p), handwash, toothpaste etc. I won't declare them as INs as I suspect they'll all be used up whilst we're away, and I won't be bringing any dregs back so unless there's a considerable amount leftover I'll probably just bin them.

I have been doing a filthy minging dirty job at work today and I feel BLEUGH. Big, BIG shower on the cards, I will see if I can rustle up a UU or two for your reading pleasure :D

Willowbee - your poor cat and you, the same thing has happened to two of my cats over the years and now I don't have one at all. Hugs to you.

FizzWhizz - I have received a despatch email today so shouldn't be long now, I did place the order on 8 August so quite a while ago.

So sorry to hear about your cat willowbee, that's really sad. Pets provide such good companionship, thinking of you.

I'm jealous of all these hair care bargains that people have ordered :rotfl: Looks like some fab buys in there

Fizz I'm intrigued about what you have been doing at work today! I know you run a cleaning company so I can imagine it was pretty grim  so lovely to hear about your friends children and how well they are :) hope you have a great holiday too.

Poor you babafette - really hope that things get fixed soon.

Good luck for the weekend kadison, I'm sure it will all go really well. Enjoy the pampering.

Hope Val is ok, not seen her for a while.

I forgot to say congratulations to trudi as well on her double exciting news!!

No more UU here. I am thinking about selling loads of my unused eyeshadow palettes to put towards the debt. Not sure how much I will get for them on ebay though.

Off topic but I have been reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, anyone else read it? It took me a while to get into it but am enjoying it now! I am working my way through my unread books as I would like to buy a Kindle (although I probably shouldn't)!

Aww, thanks KT - sort of getting used to things now! Midwife was here earlier - it's got a heartbeat.... Apparently very active as well - good job one of us is!

No UU or ins to report - I did have a look at the hair care offer, but I've got plenty at the moment (see - I learnt eventually!!)

Willow, I'm so sorry to see about your cat - It's so sad when they go,and more so when it's a road accident. Huge hugs xx

Just been going through all my make up and I feel slightly sick about the amount I have. Especially the amount I have that I have never even used. I remember when my make up collection consisted of one make up bag - it is now in a set of 6 drawers, a make up bag, plus some overspill!! I love having the choice and it is nice to have a collection but I feel so guilty at the amount I have spent and the debt I am in, especially as I bought most of it is over the past few years. No one else knows about the sheer volume of stuff I have because I feel so ashamed :(

I know exactly how you feel, I joined the NSK challenges back in January and that put a stop to it all for me, I too have debt and needed to deal with it. This month is NSK's last month but we are carrying on and each month a new member of the group will be running the challenge. Why don't you pop over and give it a go? Here's the link. You could get the idea for the rest of August and then join in September, great group of people over there too.

KT2802 - I have read Gone Girl, I liked it but didn't love it. I have just read The Ocean At The End Of The Lane and that was really good. I also tried Night Circus but after 250 pages I gave up, it was very atmospheric which I loved but nothing happened. I would recommend Rivers of London and Moon Over Soho, they are great. Sorry for going off topic.

Willowbee - I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I know how hard the death of a pet can hit :(

KT2802 - I read Gone Girl very recently and found it to be a real page-turner but, without spoliing things for you, the ending was a bit of a let-down. I too have lots of unread paperbacks (and eBooks) so I've joined the "no buying books" challenge on the DFW board - a few of the other ladies from this thread introduced me to it. As dolly84 has suggested, there are lots of debt-free challenges which might help you get the spending under control, I've joined a couple as I'm trying to tackle my mortgage in a big way and I find them great for giving you focus. There are some really inspirational people on these boards, and lots of goodideas. Good luck!

    Right, the UUs:

16/197. Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser Nourishing Cocoa 8ml - freebie and WNB, does an ok job but nothing a moisturising body wash wouldn't do IMO. I have 4 more of these and think I maybe need to really use two sachets at a time to get better results. Also left the shower super slippery!

17/198. Mark Hill Gorgeous Brunette Shine Reflective Shampoo 75ml - WMBA if in sale, did the job but didn't wow me.

Yesterday I UU a sure roll on deo, WDBA

I've used up lots of lush bubble bars and bombs lately but not kept track of them

This morning I UU A Nivea sensitive balance shower gel, would probably buy again

And my EH moringa cleansing balm is now finished too WDBA but for now I've pre-planned and have a 200ml tub in stash

I've not had time to keep up, what with the school hols, and kids now being back at school here (Edinburgh) and plans for my wedding, thoughts of stash, buying or using up, haven't really crossed my mind! I don't think I've bought anything in a while, although I may have chucked a shower gel or two in the trolley when we've been doing our grocery shopping x
