Threatening letter from insurance company
Options
Hi,
I recently had to cancel my car insurance as I no longer had access to the car. The company I was with asked me to pay a cancellation charge of over a hundred pounds! I thought this was too much, but I paid it anyway to avoid any hassle. Now, I've been landed with a letter asking me to pay an outstanding amount of "£0.00", (yes, that's right £0.00) or they will pass my details on to debt collection agency and this will result in an additonal £20 charge! Is there any way I can get back at this greedy insurance company?
Thanks.

Send them a cheque for £0.00 ask for a receipt and see what happens.0

just call them, it's a computer error.0

As above, you have to pay it.
Donkeys ago, I had an electric bill for £0.00 (can't recall why now)
Anyway I ignored it, like you would, then got a red bill, with dire warnings of disconnection
As this was in The Olden Days I took it to the MEB shop to "pay" and the cashier put it through the system, which cleared the "arrears" and "non-payment".
Apparently, an unpaid bill is an unpaid bill, even if it is for £0.00I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Please do name the company - they deserve to be shamed in public!0
-
send them a cheque for £0.01 and see what they do
You could then hassle them for a £20 non refund fee if they don't refund your over payment.

To be honest I'd ignore it & let them carry on... be funny if they took as far as courtAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

Yes it will be laughed out of court- except you will owe debt collection fees etc- sort it out unless you like unnecessary hassle.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Why would you owe debt collection fees if there is no debt?0
