Separated but living in the same house

I think you be considered as living together therefore the household income would be taken into account for benefit purposes. This, you would need proper advice on, as I'm not sure how you could prove it wasn't just a scam?0

Surely they both have an equal responsibility to the household expenses (which includes costs associated with having children)? Sorry for my harsh post but I'm fed up of women thinking it is perfectly reasonable to split from the father of their children without a plan to stand on their own two feet and then expect the state to pick up the bill.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -

Hi OP, I would recommend you go along to the CAB. Explain your full circumstances to them, and a trained advisor will be happy to recommend the best way forward for yourself and your family. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

I really would advise that you go to citizens advice and ask, because you never know.0 -

I didn't see anything from the OP that stated any of that! Perhaps it was a mutual decision to separate, perhaps there's reasons for this decision that are none of our business! The OP didn't ask to be judged, she asked a question. If you have no advise that may help other than get a job then perhaps it would be kinder to not post?0 -

So how will it be if either of you meets someone else?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0
