To be fair to the OP, CM, he's used my suggested words there!
Maybe I'm not mean enough!:rotfl:
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Done as below (sorry I didn't use CM's version as I am trying to be soft at this stage ):
Dear Parking Eye,
re PCN number ***
As a genuine customer of ALDI, the driver of my car finished shopping in ALDI within 84 minutes, but got delayed at customer services over a query about the receipts for some goods purchased that day (apparently the staff there were very busy that day; we have spoken to the store yesterday and their staff still remember the issues with the receipt. The store staff have taken a copy of the receipt and the PCN.)
Today I have spoken to Rachel at Aldi Customer Service Parking management team and expect the PCN to be cancelled and confirmed in writing within seven days.
Attached is a copy (not original) of my receipt for £49 as proof of the driver's patronage of ALDI *** and I'd be obliged if you would cancel this parking charge ASAP please. Please do not send me any further letter about this PCN except to confirm it's been cancelled.
Please note that this is my formal appeal and if you reject it then please forward a POPLA verification code by return.
Yours,
***0 -
I think I'd say that Rachel (and put her surname in the letter 'Organ' - yes, that's her surname!) has made contact with you (not the other way around) and has confirmed that she will arrange for the PCN to be cancelled.
She is the principal to the contract with PE, and therefore calls the shots. You need to write to them with confidence and authority, and keep them on the back foot. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I should have posted the letter here for comments before I hit the "submit" button online. Your suggestion does make a lot of sense. I guess the only way to modify it is to send a letter via POST OFFICE?0 -
Is the following OK to be sent out via POST?

Aldi at Yarm is a small establishment and there's absolutely no need for any form of parking restriction on that site; it's way out of the town centre. Any chance of getting this publicised in the local press (The Gazette)? That way, fewer people might shop at the place and they might lose some business.0

I don't expect they would notice too much difference at this stage, so not a fatal mistake, just see what comes of your online approach.
Don't forget you have Rachel's word that this will be cancelled, so see how that goes.
Do get back to us to inform of a successful outcome, or if it goes pear-shaped, then we'll talk about Plan B (and there most definitely is one). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. OK. Thanks for the help.0 -
29 posts already (excluding mine) and the right approach is post #26 in this case.
Telephone calls are ok, but no paper trail and it is not unknown for PPCs not to cancel and you could have lost your appeal window. Hopefully, you will be ok, but get that letter off.0 -

Thanks. I did it online using the version in #23, which is not as good as #26. Maybe I should send the version in #26 by post as well?0
