i feel nokia has conned me by showing the magic offer of sat nav on n 95.
it doest find gps positions anywhere in this planet it seems.
asks to go online ( to make money for the greedy networks) and even after that it gives u some simulation rather than navigation.
that means it will assume u travel at its calculated times and speeds irrespective of traffic or ur gps position. so might ask u to take a turn when there is none because it doesnt know where u are..
and about buying tomtom and gps reciever like sjc mentioned it seems too expensive.. why cant one buy a seperate sat nav piece from tomtom which can be bought as cheap as 100 quids. thats for software and hardware with inbuilt reciever..0 -

I bought my N 95 on an orange network from onestopphoneshop and they gave me free subscription for the voice navigation. that was the only reason i bought N95 and now it just do simulation using orange web rather that navigation using inbuilt reciever.
QUERY:
So who to contact. Is it NOKIA/ ORANGE / ONESTOPPHONESHOP. Everyone seem to be passing the bucks to others in my case..0 -

generic N95's do allow it to find you via your networks transmitters & GPS, now I wonder why Orange etc etc.... removed it ?i feel nokia has conned me by showing the magic offer of sat nav on n 95.

Guys there is only one Sat-Nav app that is worth serious consideration for the N95/N82 with internal GPS and that is Garmin Mobile XT. I got it off of torrents and I honestly can't be any happier with it... while it's not quite as user-friendly as Tom-Tom, it is in my opinion more accurate with a fantastic routing engine, and I am really starting to love using it. It's deifnately better thn Route 66.
There's a huge thread/guide on it on GSM-Forum.0 -
