No, not 75p per Litre, 75p to fill the tank. He has a Toyota Landcruiser. Petrol is around $0.01 a L, less if you can pay in USD

He knew UK petrol was more expensive but thought it'd be around a tenner for a tank rather than eighty.

I just don't believe there is any country where petrol is 1 US cent a litre.

Even in Saudi Arabia where they splash it around like nothing, as it costs less than water, it costs €0.09 a litre

Here's a link to some current prices:

So are you going to tell us what country he comes from or just leave us guessing?

What do you want a flashing light with "cheaper fuel here ---->" for all people who cannot read and understand what they are buying.

People who drive premium cars (and even your average car) will want to fill up with a premium fuel and there's a market for it. I dont get how on earth its deceptive. At petrol pumps across the country there are usually only 2 or 3 fuels available at each pump. So if theres 4 fuels on the market i.e. unleaded, super unleaded, diesel and super diesel they are often rotated at different pumps. This is pretty basic.

I'm sure you get round Tesco ok picking up value food so not sure whys theres an issue at the pumps.

The assumption that the OP is a pratt is somewhat unfair.

We have a Shell garage near us in Bolton that is exactly like the one described.

I used to fill up there on a monthly basis and got caught out twice (managed to move the car each time). Don't go there now.

Its somewhat of an ambush if you get boxed in and the operators know it.

Some of us are not looking out for sharp practice around every corner and some of us don't treat MSE like Facebook.

the two main types of colour deficiency (not 'blindness') are blue-yellow and red-green...
