I've noticed that, I think that is a bug that they will sort.
It seems there are quite a few bugs that should have been tested before release
I've had to 'register' my app each time I reboot, despite having the 'start a boot' box ticked.
I have ticked the bottom box now, so will try that!
I was told originally that we would be able to use it abroad, looks like they are 'working on that' too!!0 -
Has anyone successfully used three in touch abroad via a VPN?
My mum is travelling to a non feel at home country and I am looking for a reliable / low cost VPN that will work on her android handset.
If anyone has any experience or VPN recommendations I'd be grateful.
Thanks :beer:0 -
Not sure. Try installing Google Hangouts and use that instead. Works better than Skype as once you have it set up on her phone (most have it installed by default), you can set it up on your Android phone or tablet without having to do anything more than installing it and firing it up as it will auto-login using your Google account.Never Knowingly Understood.

Well weirdly I've just used it abroad WITHOUT a VPN - I called back to the UK from Jamaica using it, in an area with no mobile coverage at all (but in a house with WIFI). Three charged me £2 a minute for the privilege which I'm contesting on the grounds that I don't believe any third party mobile network was involved, and so Three's costs for routing the call were identical to me using InTouch from within the UK.
Does anyone know different?
Btw how come it worked for me without a VPN I have no idea, I'm on an iPhone 6.0 -
Update: looks like the router I was connected to was programmed to dial a VPN on every bootup. As you were..0

Going to Serbia next month - a non Feel At Home country.
Hope to avoid the extortionate £2/min charges.
Unfortunately, I can't even download the Three in Touch App, as I have a Blackberry (passport) and it seems to come up with an error message when I try to actually activate the app (correction - can download, but just can't activate).
I actually have a VPN provider on my phone, and am able to watch iplayer without a problem... So connecting to a UK internet provider is easy. Also, I do have a UK VOIP account, so when I have Wi-Fi I am able to use the VOIP account at 10p/min to the UK ... It would have been nice if I had a FREE option
Does anyone have new information?
A FREE VOIP ACCOUNT WITH A FREE UK LANDLINE
Just in case you are not aware, you can easily have FREE use of a UK (or any other country's landline number) on your own mobile. Register with SipGate, below, choose your preferred city/code AND THEN download a VOIP APP for your mobile phone. Thus, when you are in a Wi-Fi area anywhere in the world, people can call your (UK landline) number and reach your mobile - free of charge, via your voip.
If you actually want to use the number (through your VOIP APP) to make calls, you will need to add credit and then calls to UK landlines are 1p/min and to UK mobile 10p/min etc.
