How the hell can a faulty sensor/hose be caused by a blocked DPF,this is a 100% fault that should be paid by Vauxhall.I would keep at them until you get refunded.I had an astra with DPF for 2 years and never done really long trips but this never caused me problemsat all, just now and again it would do a regen

put a message on there facebook page and some one from customer services should take it up for you https://www.facebook.com/vauxhall

Facebook may be the way to go.

I have had problems with 2 companies over the past 6 months, got nowhere emailing them etc.

Posted on both their facebook pages, both problems solved within hours

Could the OP please name the Vauxhall dealer involved.

All large companies worth their salt monitor forums like these and Vauxhall will almost certainly one of them.

Will the OP name the dealer involved or am I thinking that this is yet another wind up on here!
  • It was Arnold Clark in Stretford that refused to fix it under warranty.

    Thanks for that.

Very poor reviews for Arnold Clark on the web, how Vauxhall continue to use dealers like this is beyond me.

We have had 2 new Vauxhalls in the last 9 years with very little trouble, but when we've had to visit their service departments the reception has been little short of combatative.

The Ford reception was a breath of fresh air and the current Volkswagen service people are superb.

Facebook and the courts are the way to go - please let us know of your progress.

A small claim is the way to go if you get no satisfaction. Nobody would think that this shouldn't be done under warranty. Whether you should claim against Vauxhall or the lease company, I don't know.

  • This the reply I have received from Vauxhall:

    Dear XXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your recent email regarding your new Vauxhall Corsa, although we are sorry for the circumstances which have caused you to contact us.

We have now had the opportunity to speak with Arnold Clark to discuss their findings following inspection and repair of your vehicle recently. They confirmed they were required to replace a cracked DPF Pressure Pipe which had caused the vehicle failure. Upon further investigation the DPF was found to be 181% saturated, and it is for this reason the repair was excluded as a warranty repair.

It is clear from your email that you are familiar with the workings of the DPF, and what is required to ensure it does not become clogged or saturated as it was in this instance. It is also important not to interrupt a cleaning cycle, which can take up to approximately 15 minutes to complete.

I regret that in this instance, in view of the saturation level of the DPF, we will be unable to assist towards the cost of your recent repair. In the unlikely event that you experience any future concerns, we will of course be willing to advise whether we will assist towards these, but I am sorry that I cannot offer a more desirable response on this occasion.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, and for allowing me the opportunity to respond.

    Yours sincerely

The pipe didn't crack because of the saturation.
There is no way that the filter could/should have become so saturated in 1,000 miles from new.
The question that arises in my mind is whether the cracked pipe exacerbated the overly-rapid saturation.

I would ask Arnold Clark for all the diagnostic information they read out the engine whilst they had the car

This might show you the amount of failed re-gens (if any) that where started but failed to complete

Does the car maual explain the regen process in enough detail, with a description of which indicator comes on to warn the driver that they need to allow the car to re-gen, and what happens when the re-gen is complete (does the indication go out) For re-gen read DPF

The hose could have cracked due to the filter being blocked and the high temp caused when re-genning, I have known a cat crack due to not being able to complete a re-gen
