Don't feel bad. You have offered free hours but need to balance your family needs. I think its a huge win for the charity and I am sure that you can put forward ideas from your free time that someone else can implement

Edit If he feels belittled I can see your problem but you still need to be the breadwinner (hugs)

Don't feel bad, the wages may be very low but there may be people out there desperate for those kind of wages and maybe you not doing work there will force the charity to take on one of those people
