Anyone remember that scene from Animal House, where John Belushi wraps a bed sheet around him and starts shouting "SOGA SOGA SOGA SOGA"
And everyone ended up at a party where they all dressed up as lawyers with uptodate knowledge of Sale Of Goods Act (SOGA).

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but OH got an xbox in Feb, it now has 3 red lights flashing on the front (I take it thats the ring of death mentioned ^), he bought it from Zavvi, so what Im asking is does he ring Zavvi or just go straight to Microsoft? How common is this total muck up of a console? Will it go wrong again after its been fixed or do they know the problem and totally fix it? Sorry if I sound a bit dumb but cant believe he can spend £300 on a console only to have it go wrong 4 months later! Thanks for any help.

I wish some people would start a class action suit against MS and the RROD, because no matter how many chipsets they seem to release, they still drop dead so often.

If you believe some reports, MS has a 1/3 failure rate on the 360.

The thing I've wondered about is whether the SOGA covers known problems.

For instance, everybody knows about the RROD issue, but if somebody buys a 360 knowing about it, are they still covered by SOGA for willfully buying something that is known to be faulty?

I know, i've got one myself, but if it RRODS I don't know if SOGA will help me, because I bought it knowing about the potential fault and SOGA only covers if you buy something where the fault hasn't been made clear.

Not sure it's an issue since MS have updated the design and parts for the 360 constantly so it's reasonable to assume that the 360 someone bought yesterday does not come with the (now) known faults of the original, and I'm sure MS probably claim with each update of components or design that the 360 now works perfectly.

I'd also expect the SOGA to cover the item anyway since the idea of buying somethin with known faults is really about buying second hand items which isn't within the remit of the Act anyway. In any event it's not necessarilly known or expected to the individual that the 360 is faulty when it is bought

Oh, the jasper chip consolse still drop like flies. I've heard a few reports about them bricking within an hour of getting home.

I didn't know SOGA doesn't cover second hand goods....does that mean pre-owned from shops as well?
  • My hubby has had this problem but becasuse Mircosoft has admitted there is a problem it is much much better to send it direct to them,.

In terms of it being picked up, repaired and sent back = 6 days.

Game wont do anything except tell you the same thing, its been nearly 3 years, and as the manuifacturerer has admitted a problem, any retailer will tell you to take it up with them.
