Blinging Up Baby

Duchy, you are being very kind to feel sorry the mothers! I'd slap a patenting order or something on them.
The sort of airheads who'd buy those 'high heeled' baby shoes in leopard skin print.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
What I also found sad was that there was not a book in sight. Oh well, perhaps I'm just past it, but I found the documentary horrific! those poor girls are not being taught anything worthwhile.0

These stupid parents drive me nuts - kids don't need bling, or designer gear, just let them be kids!
There's enough pressure with the teenage years, so, why start it all with toddlers? lol

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Reminds me of that tots show that used to be on the telly - totally gross filming of tots dressed like and gyrating around like hookers. Can't remember the name of it - someone else mightl
Mini Pops!!
Can you imagine floating that as an idea at a TV exec's meeting nowadays??
ETA: It was Channel 4 attempting to be cutting edge....!0 -

It was the Mini-Pops, I believe (photographic memory - I was too young to watch it, but I remember reading about it in "Look In"!).
I agree with Duchy though; this sort of behaviour is utterly revolting. The children are not old enough to make these choices for themselves - why degrade and humiliate them like this?! And as for the post about bikini-waxing... Firstly, the tots don't have the hair to warrant this and, secondly, their layers of skin are still developing; they will end up burned and scarred for life.
It just disgusts me, anything like this. Horrible. x
P.S. Crossed with Kastanie's post; agree with what you mean about pitching it these days though. Mind you, they get away with those grotesque 'pageants' in the USA...0 -
Just seen it was Channel 5; say no more... !!!!!! provider Richard Desmond and his entertainment vacuum of a channel. Just sad that there are real children at the end of this nonsense.

One thing's for sure, the peeds will be loving it.
Some years ago, I worked for a a Child Prorection department, within a council.
The most popular reading material in prisons, at that time, for nonces, was the original Mothercare/Ladybird catalogues that used to show perfectly innocent photos of small children in knickers and vests sort of thing.
Apparently, the innocence was the turn on.....
Not sure if it still applies, but this was the point when they stopped taking pics like this, and just showed toddler undies without a child involved.
Nonces will get their jollies from a host of things, not just bling babies.
Blinging babies is still wrong, though.

It's got nothing to do with being tall for your age, most shops, budget or otherwise, have got plenty of appropriate clothing for little ones, I seem to have managed to get my DD to the age of 11 without dressing her like a hooker, with clothes from the likes of Primark, Asda, H&M, River Island, Next, M&S, etc..... And certainly not a One Direction t-shirt in sight (she hates them

I vaguely remember the Mini Pops although I never watched it, my mother would never have allowed it!! We had S4C here in Wales rather than Channel 4 (in the good old pre-Sky/Freeview days) so you had mainly Welsh language programmes with some English content in the early mornings or late at night. One of my friends had a mini pops album of all things, but my mother went into a rant about it when I mentioned it to her so I soon realised it wasn't all it was cracked up to be!!Some years ago, I worked for a a Child Prorection department, within a council.

I was also going to say that although I'm not condoning what some of these parents are doing with the bling, I think sometimes people are barking up the wrong tree by thinking that this sort of thing is making children more appealing for sex offenders, for exactly what you have mentioned here.
I remember someone locally being arrested for something fairly minor, but when he was searched he was carrying a hammer with a pair of children's knickers wrapped around the handle. Same with someone else who had a drawer full of kids knickers when his home was raided. They're not all that struck on kids tarted up to look like mini adults, just kids will do, just being as kids normally are.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0
