Weather is cooler, which is quite nice tbh.
Trying to avoid the supermarket but then also think I should stock up due to situations around the world. I can't watch the news at the moment. It's so upsetting.
Youngest had huge meltdown in public yesterday. Tried to take him to the barbers. Was ok till it was his turn. I feel quite upset. I do wonder of he will ever have a "normal" life. I know that's awful, sorry.
I've got a friend coming over soon with her little girl. They're going back to Aus in September. Her dd loves my youngest. House is a midden as youngest has thrown toys everywhere. Oh well.
Hmm, I don't appear to be happy today. Think I will go.
Love, hugs and spoons xxx
Enjoy your time with your friend. I have no experience of what you're going through but wanted to send positive vibes2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
I am so thirsty
Have busied myself in the kitchen which is maybe not a good thing considering I can't eat but I have set the bread maker. Since taking pack ups whenever OH goes to work and children to their various activities, we are getting through so much bread
I've also just made these although I have to wait 7 hours before baking:

and have made chicken lasagne for tonight using some leftover chicken breasts.
Going to have 30 minutes break, have a shower and such like then make the leek and potato soup using this recipe:

Hopefully it will turn out well2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
(((((Hugs)))) mrsmortenharket. I have no experience of children with special needs. A child without special needs is hard enough to cope with. I hope today you have a better day.
Just come back from Moms. She was tearful today. Asked how my Dad was and if he was working. Dad died 34 years ago near enough. What do you say to that? Telling her he had died would have been hard, she was tearful enough. Lying to her wasn't appropriate either. I just told her she didn't have to worry about him any more. She was happy with that. I picked up her hairbrush, turned her round in her wheelchair and we had a girly session in front of the mirror. I put a couple of hair grips in her hair and brushed it and stopped her just before she sprayed perfume into her face.
Noticed her wedding ring has gone missing and so has her watch. Let sleeping dogs lie I told myself. She didn't miss her ring but what drew me to it was the fact she kept fiddling with where her watch used to be.
Ive arranged with the home owner to take the 'Girls' down to see her next time I go. Mom loves dogs and it will give us something to talk about when communicating is so difficult. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Mrsmortenharket I am sorry you are having a difficult time at the moment, I can understand it isn't easy. My DGS, who is almost 18 now, has dispraxia (not that you would know), but when he was young we used to have the most dreadful meltdowns in supermarkets.
It was so frustrating because you would see people looking and thinking what a badly behaved child he was.
Well I have actually baked my fat free tea loaf,:D but the kitchen is so hot now because we have the sun on the back of the house for most of the day.

Judi, Hugs, it must break your heart sometimes when your Mum says things like that.

Here's a wee affirmation for you, which might be helpful:
Burn the anger
Burn the pain
Let the flames make me
Free again.
Mrs MH I can empathise with your youngest lad; the last time I attempted to visit a hairdresser I ended up having a full-blown panic attack. That was about 30 years ago, I've never been to one since. I was in my mid-20s at the time.
Are you able to ascertain what made him crack? With me it was having someone I didn't know touch my hair. 'Tis just a thought. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Fat free tea loaf.
Soak 300g of dried fruit in hot tea, made up of 300ml of boiling water and one tea bag. Obviously take the tea bag out before putting the fruit in. You can use any dried fruit, and today I used glace cherries, chopped apricots, chopped dates and sultanas.
The recipe says soak it overnight, but I usually soak it for about 3 hours.
To that add 150g of sugar, you can cut this down slightly because the fruit is sweet.
2 eggs
225g of S/R flour
and 1 teaspoon of mixed spice, or cinnamon.
Line a loaf tin and pour mixture in.
Bake in the middle of the oven on gas 4 for about an hour. Check in the usual way to be sure it is cooked.
We love this and I like to think it isn't too bad because there is no fat in it.

It has been lovely here today again, we only had a 5 minute light shower of rain yesterday, so it looks like I will have to water the garden again tonight.
Caught up on all the washing this morning and most of it is already dry
Didn't sleep much last night, I woke with a really bad headachy pain in my right eye IYKWIM, it is still there now, but not as bad.
I hope it wears off soon because I want to get the sewing machine out this afternoon and get some joggers turned up for DH.
Honestly I wish I had married a taller man sometimesI wouldn't be without him though :rotfl:
Mrs MH, it is awful when they have the meltdowns, and there is nothing that you can do to calm them down. Try and find out what he didn't like about the barbers, maybe then you can take steps to avoid the thing that is upsetting him (((Hugs)))
I am just off to make a chicken and mushroom tart using l/o chicken from last night plus a few mushrooms with a mushroom sauce and we will have that with salad and new potatoes, easy peasy, cheap, quick and tasty
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
