    Morning everyone

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Blue sky and sunshine and not so humid, but still forecast to be hot. Watered plants and greenhouse. Washing on the line.

DH and DS1 up and gone to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was cheeseburgers in a bun, chips, baked stuffed mushroom and salad for the menfolk. I had tuna mayo on a jacket potato, salad and baked mushroom. I’d used up all the tuna so had to go to the local convenience shop for a tin, omg, I couldn’t believe the price, was tempted not to buy it but I didn’t really have anything else to put on my jacket potato other than cheese, tuna is now on the shopping list for the end of the week! Tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato and beans/veg – planning has gone a bit wrong (due to meat having to be taken back to SM and there being no LO’s to serve for 1 night this week) as I’m now serving chips 2 nights in a row but I’m sure they’ll survive. I took the horrible meat back and got a refund without any problem – so I’m pleased I made the effort.

Work yesterday although wasn’t awful was steady and at times we just had so many people in the shop, we had loads of people still in the shop at 4pm – most will be coming back today. I’m working at the other office today, so won’t be quite to relentless.

Take care in the sun and warm weather, remember the sunscreen x

    Keep safe and well x

  • Good Morning everyone, warm already here but overcast and dull. Still no rain which we desperately need as the garden looks arrid and parched. Not too bad to sleep last night but woke very early with a horrid smell from the Oil Refinery across the river, eugh!!!

I made some Finnish Rye and Barley flatbreads for breakfast today, a new recipe that is really easy and they were surprisingly tasty. We had them hot with L/F soft cheese and Lingonberry Jam and He Who Knows has asked for them regularly so a great success!

Lots to do indoors today, ironing, tidying up and processing things from all the plots so I'll be pretty busy, I'm also going to make some peach and apricot jam to use up the rest of the fruit I got for DD s visit, slightly exotic but should be nice in the colder weather as a little breath of summer.

Hope you are all well and happy, stay cool and stay hydrated in this heat, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all

Looks like we have had quiet abit of rain in the night, its much cooler here - which is a welcomed relief
One of my hens has decided to crow every morning for the last 3 days so I am having to get up at 5:30 and let her out, I think the arrival of the other 2 hens have upset her because she never did it before, wish she would settle down or at least wait another hour or two so I can have abit of a lie in, she only seems to wake me DH is still dead to the world!

    Plans for today are:
    A quick tidy round downstairs
    Change beds
Photograph some bits to go on eb@y
nip farm shop and collect bread flour
    pet shop for shavings& hay
prepare tea (HM pizza, garlic bread & salad)

Yesterday was another nice relaxing day spent infront of the sewing machine, I took up a pair of curtains for the spare room and made a few cushion covers for the bed, then did abit more of my crochet blanket in the evening
Dinner was veg curry with rice and we made some Indian style courgette fritters, first time we had made them, even ds liked them so will be doing them again.

Dandy - we have so many rabbits because my DH exhibits them at shows, it did start with just 1 rabbit now he has 26 of them, although he has started cutting the numbers down now as its very time consuming having so many, especially when it comes to grooming them all!

Hope you all have a lovely day x

It's time consuming with 1 dog at times so can just imagine how much time is spent with 26 rabbits

Bet they all have their own personalities though :) My youngest DD would love rabbits.

I've been wondering, I have roller blinds in the kitchen which need replacing but would it be cheaper just to replace the material and how would I get them stiff as they are now? The blinds cover 10ft of window so are expensive to replace new but the current ones are water stained from a leak last winter :(

Morning all - wow it's busy in here this morning :hello:. Looks as though everybody has a busy day planned :j.

donny-gal - thanks for starting today's thread and sorry to hear that you had trouble sleeping. Caravans CAN be stifling some times - but we still love 'em, don't we ;).
jlhmd666 - good luck with the storecupboard challenge. Mine isn't too bad at the moment, but I could do with re-organising my freezers and then doing a challenge with those :(. I know what's in them (recent inventory) but need to swap stuff over so it's more convenient to 'get at' :o.
TTFTM - have a good day in work today - hope it's not too uncomfortable for you all.
Gers - Have a good time in Edinburgh, it's one of the few places in Scotland that I've never visited :). Hey, Seagulls - you gotta love 'em - have you ever met the ones in Mallaig and Oban :rotfl:? Thieving blighters will have your fish supper out of your fingers!!!!!
candlelight - hope you get all your people566.gif dry today.
good advice - well done on your YS haul :T. Have a good day with your MIL and BIL :). If you need any help to finish the cheesecake .............. ;).
sistercas - enjoy your day in work and :T on making a start on her HSwash.gif
tru - I know exactly what you mean about courgettes. I should like them, but I don't :(. If I were you, I'd complain to the shop about that cotton yarn - OR to the manufacturers - it really shouldn't be like that.
Hester - 2 DD's and 7 dgk's all in one day  - that's above and beyond the 'call of duty'. Well done you for being a great nana!
JackieO - good luck with the doughnut making - hope your dgs's - and YOU - enjoy them .
    redruby - have a good day :).
nmlc - well done you on getting a refund on that leg of lamb from the weekend - customer power!!! I'm sure you're lot won't come to any harm by having chips a couple of times on the run.

oops cross posted and missed a few people

MrsLurcherwalker - Your breads always sound so  - don't know how you find time so early in the mornings :T.
Jacksmummy - great work on the sewing machine and crochet. Love both of those myself :D.
jlhmd666 - I'm sure that there's some websites on t'internet about making your own rollerblinds - possibly You Tube Vids as well. I also think there's some kind of 'stiffening spray' (no dirty laughs, please!) that you can buy. Good Luck with the project seamstress.gif

    My plans for today include:
    • Do OH's packed lunch to take out with him this morning.
    • Hoping to manage to get another couple of hours in the garden this morning - got off to a cracking start yesterday - but the more I look at it, the more jobs I can see that need doing !
    • Have a well-deserved shower after lunch.
    • Supposed to be going to my Family History Group this afternoon around 3.30pm - but not sure if I'll manage to fit it in.
    • Meeting up with OH for Chinese Buffet - because, in the words of Cheryl Cole - '.......... I'm worth it!' :rotfl:.

 to all who follow and hope you all have a good day with lots of OS-ing

lots of ((((get well hugs)))) for all who need - or want - them. Luv Lilyplonk xx

Gosh you are all up and posting so early!

    Morning all :)

DG- I hope itching settles soon, is there no relief with an antihistamine?
Lily plonk- great news about mum, it must be a weight off your mind

Cooler last night so we didn't use fan, I'm dreading what next electricity bill will be. Ds2 was put on antibiotics for painful lump in his ear. They gave him pills which he finds hard to swallow but hopefully by the end of the week he will have mastered it :p

Jhmd666- I wouldn't be in a hurry to lessen the store cupboard, all these battles in Europe and the Middle East are really worrying me. Who knows whats around the corner :(

Going to wash sheets today and pick green beans for freezer. I have a half loaf of grand blanc left from weekend which I might try turning into breadcrumbs, it's quite thick tho so hope it drys ok in oven.

Have a lovely productive day all, hugs for those in need!

P/s. Bonfire will be today, cathartic is just the right word ;) xx
  • Lily I love reading your posts because they are so animated. I only know how to do a smiley face.

Thanks dandy-candy and TTFTM - it certainly IS a load off our minds. Mum is beginning to get 'stir-crazy' in hospital - though I'm sure she's a bit nervous about going to live by herself. Both of my Dsis's have already met the Scheme Manager at this new place and have been singing her praises. I'm a retired Scheme Manager, so looking forward to also meeting her and learning how we can all 'work together' to get the best out of this place for Mum :). The family of the current tenant, who is going into a NH are even leaving kitchen white goods behind, carpets, curtains and reclining armchair that we can buy from them :T. Will be worthwhile doing this as Mum has no furniture items of her own.

Enjoy your Bonfire - I had a 'shredding experience to finally get rid of all the vile/nasty/disgusting stuff that my ex-oh - father of my three adult children - sent me after we split up. The only things that I've kept are my Marriage Certificate (because it's a 'legal document' that will cost me money to replace if ever required) and my two divorce documents ('nisi' and 'absolute') :j. Every note/letter that went through the shredder, I imagined it was a part of his anatomy :rotfl:!
