This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning All
Unlike me to be awake at silly o'clock, but irritation though improved is driving me bonkers. Been up since around 3.30 am so though I would start us off. A bit hard being awake in the caravan as a light would have disturbed DH, so just even playing games on my iPad.
Hopefully today we will get into the nearest Tourist Info and see if there are any nice places where we an take Skye.
Good news on the appointment BB
((Hugs)), Spoons, positive Vibes all round. Take care everyone DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Morning all
I've been awake a while tooJust can't seem to settle lately. It's definitely a lot cooler today.
I didn't get much done yesterday although I started on our bedroom which has badly been in need of sorting for a long time now. All manner of papers are waiting to be filed or shredded and I will make a dent into that this morning. I managed to get rid of some clothes for the charity shop and want to finish off my drawers today also.
I've been reading the Storecupboard Challenge which is interesting. I have such a stockpile of food which sometimes makes me feel bad when there are so many starving people in the world that we can have so muchAnyway, I'm going to start reducing it further. I've got a full inventory now and have highlighted seasonings and spices so I can come up with a few ideas, I'm sure.
Kids are at summer club today until 4 then M.I.L is picking them up as my hospital appointment is at 4. I can't eat after 8a.m. and can only have sips of water so maybe a good thing it doesn't feel as hot.
Have a good day all

Morning. Wet in Glasgow again.
Woken up by more screeching seagulls... never heard such noisy birds!
I'm off to Edinburgh for work today and tomorrow and then off Thursday/Friday so it's a lovely long weekend as it's a bank holiday on Monday here.
Not spending anything.
Good vibes to everyone - Happy Tuesday.0 -
Good morning,
Weather lovely here at the moment, WM just finished so will put washing out shortly.
Slept a little better last night, although when we went to bed it was still
very humid, and the pillow never seems to be cold:)
Plans for today are to take DD shopping and she needs to take her sick note into work( she is a nurse in a hospital) so parking will be a nightmare.
I really must do some baking, but it is just too hot, but will make an effort today.
Hugs to all poorlies and Molly and Hilly if you are reading I hope things will improve for you soon.
Have a good day

It is going to be a sunshine day,, I hope everyone gets to sit outside for a little wile.
I woke up about 2am and my phone was bleeping = charge me! so put phone and kindle both on to charge.
The things you do in the night Eh!
I did my weekly grocery shopping yesterday. 53 pounds.
I bought a lovely new plant for our collection. I do not know the name but it has plumes of deep purple feather like flowers. YS = 2.25.
I bought food with the hot weather in mind = mint tea, lemon squash, lime squash. We have black current, orange. Flavorings to add to pints of water.
x2 melons. large oranges, grapes, apples and strawberries.
Ice cream and ice cubes.
Little gem lettuce. We have tomatoes from green house.
Then other YS shopping and from my small list.
Shopping list the OS way. Written on cut up cereal box.
Oh yes! I bought a YS scarf too! Beautiful bright colors.
Think of a large square. Parrot flying on blue background in the middle. All round the edge bold tropical flowers. Splashed out 3.50.
It is now up at the landing window instead of the curtain. Looks like we have been on a tropical holiday.
This scarf would make a lovely table cover to!
Oh yes! I am meant to drape it round my neck :0/
Today we are going to visit MIL and cook her and BIL lunch.
I did not get volunteered till after I had been shopping so we are taking some of what i bought. Steak and onion family pie.
For pudding luck on our side, I had bought a large vanilla cheesecake in YS for 2.75.
MIL is just out of hospital.
Nearly 7am now. DD will soon be getting up and ready for work.
Sending good wishes to every one.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

LameWolf We raised the bluebelles from a day old, so I think they think we're mum and dad, lol. They always come over for a chat. The others come over too, til they realise we have no treats then they walk off in a huff
Miss tru bought a weekly bus pass yesterday then lost it. She needed new clothes but couldn't be bothered to go shopping. After work she missed the bus home (because she was hunting through her bag for the pass). She wandered around New Look while she waited for the next one. They had a sale on with huge reductions, dresses £4, sunglasses £1, etc. What she lost on the bus pass was much much less than the massive savings she made in the shopEvery cloud, and all that.
That cotton yarn I bought the other day is lovely, except for all the knots and ruffly bits, ggrrr. I won't be buying that brand again. I used it up by making potholders and face scrubbies.
Six more courgettes have been chopped and frozen. Dunno why I'm doing all the work – I can't stand the things but everyone else loves them
I'm going to check my potatoes today, they must be ready now. I hope they are, I have more to plant – Pentland Javelin. I've never heard of them before. New potatoes for Christmas – hopefully
I've had enough of my leg, I'm going to ring the osteopath today. There, I've said it in public so I have to do it now. Errr, you don't have to strip off do you?
