It's obvious they are low tops, if they were hi tops they would be boots like this http://www.dcshoes-uk.co.uk/en/nyjah-high/adjs100048/ADJS100048,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_ADJS100048_color=bl0#cgid=women_shoes_skate&start=1&hitcount=45 which they're very clearly not. I can't see how you could imagine they were anything other than low tops.

Well I'm going to assume they need to edit their website to better show off the category such as how Mens Womens etc is shown.

It almost doesn't matter what EU regulations say - if they refuse to refund your return costs then there is little you can do about it. You can't (easily) force them to. Its hard enough when its a UK based seller but at least you have Trading Standards for a weak shot or the Small Claims process if you think its really worth the hassle.

You could claim via whatever method you paid but even if they do help, they won't refund you the extra return costs either.

Keep them, sell them on or send them back at your cost are your only real (easy) options.

Try https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk - they have some cheap deals via ParcelForce for European deliveries.

You still seem to be having trouble reading.

On that page for Etnies Kingpin you linked to it clearly states:

Etnies
Kingpin
Black/Black
Description: The Kingpin is a low top nubuck skate shoe from Etnies.

So both not only look similar, but both are described as 'low top'.
