Entitlement to a refund on clothing.

I ordered a pair of shoes last week from a trusted website online and was informed of a 4-5 day delivery, which was perfect as I needed them by Saturday. On the Friday my parcel was still in Belgium and I was unable to contact their customer support as It was apparently offline (although I phoned at 3pm, which is within their opening hours) anyway, today I received the product a whole 7 days later to find that they aren't what I was expecting which has led to them not fitting properly.

On the page shown here: http://www.dcshoes-uk.co.uk/en/ignite-2/adys100009/887767418022,en_GB,pd.html#q=ignite+2&simplesearch.x=0&simplesearch.y=0&start=3&hitcount=3

They look like ordinary skate shoes but I don't have the best eye sight and I've tested other people with this, I can't see that it says "Low top" in the top left corner as the color is quite faded.

Do I have anything to go on here? They're trying to make me pay full return fees for their bad website design, no where else on the order at all does it state that these are low top shoes which are no use to me.

    DSR returns?

I'm able to return them under DSR, yes but my issue is they're trying to make me pay the ridiculous return charge to France.

Is the item you received different from the image on the website? Is the item different to how it is described?

If the answer is no to these questions, you will be liable for the return postage.

I can easily see that it says HOME \ MEN \ SHOES \ LOW TOPS \ IGNITE 2

    ...and that's without my specs

Maybe a browser issue, I'm using Chrome and the top font is very hard to read - and I do have my specs on

Did they inform you in a durable medium?

I can't actually find a UK address for them - they are part of Quiksilver who's European presence is:

Quiksilver Europe (aka Na pali S.A.S.)
    162 rue Belharra
    64500 Saint Jean de luz
    France

    Yeah I noticed that.

Not sure how to phrase this without trying to sound rude but here goes....I'm not sure how thats relevant to what I posted? Durable medium is a requirement EU wide. It was actually an ECJ that defined durable medium (that it is to serve the same function as paper, that emails are durable but links sent within an email are not along with that the information was to be received with no positive action on the consumers part).

Unless I've wrongly interpreted your post anyway, was the only thing I could think you were getting at! :D

I'm using Chrome also and this is what I barely see: e3deab5bf9d507cce743190b43409206.png.

It doesn't state that these shoes are low top anywhere else, not in an e-mail, even the receipt for the item just in the image provided above. I would of promptly cancelled the order had I known this.

It's pretty clear tbh, you have no one to blame but yourself, the headline is low tops, they are even in the low tops category, how many times do they need to point this out to you.
