  • Even though I think prices are shaky right now, and I'm certainly glad the first house we offered on fell through as the same thing now is 10k+ cheaper.... I'm still trying to buy (just for one reason or another it's taking forever!!!)

Just can't wait around for things to happen or not, just have to get on with it as sick of living with parents and will not go into rental on basis of prices coming down, how many fell like this I'm not sure but I'd bet your average home buyer does not do much research into the UK property market, they just buy when they are ready.

if you really are sick of living with parents you would pony up and move out

Hi Foxy. I'm thrilled to hear my posts shine a glimmer of light into your otherwise miserable existence. It's quite a responsibility knowing how much my ramblings mean to you. I used to worry about how you might cope if I ever stopped posting but I take comfort in the fact that there are a number of groups/ people who share the burden of your projected hate.

So, happy Christmas from me, muslims, blacks, foreigners, Grant Shapps, Nick Clegg, your landlord, Lloyds Bank, BTL owners, your poor poor family and anyone on benefits. We're here for you mate.

Most buy when their banker tells them they can have some credit, slight difference. Loans will be harder to come by as prices start crashing, cash rich will do well ;)

the press sure think there is a big fall in house prices, the DM can't usually write anything without mentioning the price of the house.

so I am surprised they are mention big falls today.

Many sheeple lap up the Mail, or so I am told on HPC, so this should be a sentiment dampener (if any was really needed now)

No surprise really, regular thing to have falls and rises reported in the DM within the same week.

Does seem to be some genuine downwards momentum in the housing market an house prices at the moment though.
  • some classic MSE bull sales tactics in play here

doesn't sell at £225k so put it up to £235k
doesn't sell at £235k so put it up to £350k
doesn't sell at £350k so put it up to £370k
doesn't sell at £370k so put it up to £400k
    that should do the trick!
  • Ideal for a first time buyer they think. What planet are they living on? 400k. Sure, I'll have two.

I do wonder where the money comes from in this madness. Sure there is the bank of mum and dad and some trust fund kids out there - I know of a 25 year old whose daddy brought her a 300k flat for her birthday, but what about the rest of us? I earn a decent salary (40k) and can't afford a garage. When is this madness going to end!?

The press are still rejoicing in the news that house prices are set to recover this year after a temporary blip. Why is this something to be celebrated!? You have an entire generation with jack all chance of owning a garage, let alone some overpriced dump like this and we think as a society that this is good?

Drives me mad - let's get on with this crash already. If the clowns in power hadn't pumped billions into keeping the farce alive, we as a nation would be in a far happier state than we are now. Why don't people get that ever rising prices are a burden to us all except for the 80 year old wetting herself in the spare room of her 5 bed house, and hey, what does she care about the millions she has on paper!
