I usually do the reverse and buy when it drops, sometimes I even sell it again when it goes back to near the peak, but not that often, I tend to stay in for the long run.

At least we agree on something.

    EU deflation looks inevitable, though
if that gets going we could have many years of stagnation

Or a EZ break up leading to debt right offs, higher interest rates, cheap holidays again, and some VI`s, elites and politicians crying in their expensive soup?

I look on mortgage interest as the rent I pay the building society. The difference is, my rent goes DOWN every year and will be gone forever next year :T.

Just in time for the price of your house to start going DOWN. Well timed.

Doesn't matter as I have no intention of selling. Will your rent be going down in line with the house prices?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

This is the reason you've been ripped apart in this forum..... Too much of the green eyed monster.... Hypocritical as well, moaning about rampers yet you're equally as bad cheering on a crash.... I hope you get what you deserve from the housing market.

My rent has gone up 50 p.m in 17 years, so I am not expecting any big jumps in the near future. As for going down, well it is so cheap already that dropping it any more wouldn`t be fair on the landlords.

Well I wouldn`t agree with "ripped apart", the quality of the arguments put against me are not strong enough for that, but "attacked" would be fair comment as people like yourself don`t like losing something they have become very attached to (endless HPI) and they definitely don`t like someone openly mocking their position and reminding them that it will end at some point.

The housing Ponzi is one of the worst things to happen to the UK in many years, and yes I will be cheering the demise of this nonsense all the way to the bottom
