Mattress advice?

Hi Guys, I`m looking to buy a new mattress quite soon. Have tried all the usual suspects i.e. dreams, bensons, harveys etc.. and feel they are all quiet "samey" and all give the usual chatter. I have heard that Kaymed, King Koil, Healthbeds all make very nice mattresses. I cant find them locally, anyone ever came across them locally? Thanks..

Try Travelodge site. You can buy direct from Sleepeeze, who supply fantastic matresses. Delivery was £25. Cost is £300. Definitely recommend.

You can buy a Hypnos mattress / bed through Premier Inn. Super comfy beds!

I'm not sure what they would charge for delivery to Northern Ireland though.

We got a king koil mattress from Direct Furniture on the Antrim Rd. very happy with it and with service from direct furniture, though you may have to wait for it to be ordered in. I was in recently looking for a single mattress for the wee one and they did have a really big range.

    Hello,

I am not in N.I. nor could my recommendation of a mattress ever be construed as money-saving: quite the opposite. (Great start, eh?)

But if you can find a shop that specializes in Vi-Spring beds, go there. As a courtesy beforehand, though, you might ring and ask whether you may take your favourite pillow(s). Dress in loose, comfortable clothing and also take slippers with you. (When I did all these the staff at the shop I visited were charmed.)

Really take your time trying all the beds. It's vital. I believe it was the 'Herald'-model, perhaps 'H. Supreme', upon which I settled (literally). This was some years ago now so I'd expect the nomenclatures to have changed. For me it was and remains the most comfortable cloud into which I have ever nestled.

I hasten, leisurely, to assure you that I have no connection with Vi-Spring or its distributors. I am just somebody who appreciates that sometimes you do have to pay for what you want to get.

    Good luck, et bonsoir.

Try Sound Asleep in Ards, that's where I got my most recent one. I believe they stock some of those brands. The mattress I bought is the same one used by Hastings Hotels.

There is a place at 1 Wilmar Rd in Dunmurray - is this place any good?
  • I personally recommend King Koil (who btw are also known as Kaymed), i've been selling them for 12 years now. I has a 1600 visco pocket sprung mattress (memory foam) for years and recently decided I wanted a change so went for the iKool 2000 pocket (gel).

You really need to lie on the mattresses and try them. I know in our showroom we have pillows already on the bed and actively encourage you to have a lie down.

    We did the same.
Bought our first bed matress from dreams and then a family member suggested direct furniture on the Antrim Road when we said we were looking another matress for a different bed a few years later.
Didn't even know they did matresses actually but they are very friendly, quick to order and receive and we bought a few other bits and they knocked a little bit of money off when I asked if they could. Showroom is much larger than it looks from the outside and plenty of matresses to try if you need to. A lot cheaper than dreams too.
