Anyone else really curious as to what this qualification actually is? Have spent ages trying to think of something that would fit all of the criteria and failed completely to come up with one?!

If I am honest it sounds quite selfish to me.
Selfish? They are young and child free, this is the perfect time to do it. And the OP doesn't seem to have a problem with it.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Oxbridge students aren't allowed to work, and a lot of unis (or courses) discourage it, but that doesn't mean it's actually prohibited.

But they can work in the holidays and they do get grants, loans and bursarys to support them.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and live together in London. He's going back to university in September for 2-3 years. I only graduated last year so and just starting to get myself on my feet. Still run out of money most months.

Apart from council tax, how can we save money?

    Thanks!

Are you living in your own place? If you are look at flat shares it's really not that uncommon to have couples living in flat shares. It can sometimes work out to be half the cost of having your own place and will save you loads of money. Just try and find a room that has enough space for him to set up an area to study.

I was at the open day when they said it at also spoke to lots of other students who have experiences of it not being possible. Having done a similar course myself I know the reality is if your going to do it you need to focus on studies

If it's going to be so difficult financially why is he going back to uni?

Can he go part time? Meaning he'd have time to work.
