Based on the latest research, so are:
Putting a baby to sleep in a room different to you before six months
Having a baby nap in a different room to you before six months
Introducing solids before six months
Introducing cows' milk before 12 months
Having a baby or young child in a front-facing car seat
And yet I am willing to bet most of you judging me (and the OP) have done at least one of these things.
In fact, the dangers of those things are more tangible and more likely than the danger I am being accused of. How's your ivory tower?

I haven't done any of those things, neither has my wife.0 -

I'm judging, yes. I work in child protection, so cannot fathom people knowingly putting their children at risk.
I have 3 children. I had them:
Sleep in same room, shortest time 18 months
All solids started well after 6 months
Same with cows milk, well after 12 months
All mine were rear facing until well over a year old.
I'm sure many others have followed the guidelines too. So I dont get your point?0 -
The point is a vast majority of people do at least one of those things. I'm glad things are changing and people are actually following the research, but many many people don't and I'm willing to bet that a lot of people who have posted on this thread have done at least one of those things. And you knew that, because you're not stupid. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

All's fine up here, because I haven't done any of these things.
I have no problem with being accused of judging people. I AM judging people and I don't care.0 -
Is it really that much of a problem if baby wakes up? If any of my three wake up when transferring from car to house then so be it. I am shocked how many people do it and I am by no means a hysterical parent!Pay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

It certainly seems to be for some mothers, babies are such an inconvenience......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

It's almost like a game of Operation isn't it? Steady hand and smooth moves and if you're lucky you can get them inside asleep, if not it's try again next time! It was always my luck that they woke up when their heads reached their cosy cot but it's never, ever occurred to me to leave them inside the car, not to sleep, not when paying for petrol. Never.0 -

Well that's a bet you would have lost because I didn't do any of the things on your list. I don't claim to be or think I am a perfect parent. But I do take REASONABLE steps to ensure my child's safety.
I think the most shocking part of the OP was that they were looking a baby monitor to hear if their child cried. To me this seems like they weren't planning on watching the car while their child was alone. Otherwise they would SEE if they woke up.0
